One thing that is really cool about this machine is that both ends are OPEN so you can seal LARGE bags or just use other plastic you have around to make custom packaging bags. I have used this item a few times and it seems to work great. Although I have not put it into like a full day of sealing bags and packaging stuff. If you were going to start using it in full rotation for your business I would get a service kit to start fresh, I would think the blades would get dull pretty quick. I also noticed that you can get just the 1/2 teflon tape to cover the heat wires. So that is an option also. It comes complete with original microphone and a copy of the Sam's Photofact. The radio transmits on all channels with about 2 Watts output(last pic) But does not receive well on 4 of them where sensitivity is way down. I'm not sure, but I think a few channels MAY be different freqs than the usual 1-23 CB channels. One strange thing I noticed was at night. When low frequency skip is in, I was hearing a station from Havana in the background on virtually ALL channels! ... moreThere's nothing wrong with receive sensitivity, it sounds normal with excellent CB reception, but at night, you can hear the SW station in the background, but well under the CB signals. It appears that something needs to be adjusted(IF's? to eliminate this interference. The chrome microphone still has good audio output. With plenty of modulation showing on the meter. Incidentally, the microphone has to be plugged in to hear speaker audio! The little message indicator lamp is missing. Replace with LED? It's in very nice cosmetic condition showing some minor cabinet wear/scratches. This high end radio sold for nearly $350.00 back in the late 1960's! Poly Comm 23 Vintage Tube CB Radio This auction is for a Poly Comm 23 thirteen tube. With two nuvistors, 24 channel, vintage tube CB radio. This vacuum tube CB radio was made in the USA by Polytronics Labs in about 1963. It is powered by 120 volts ac. The radio is in very good condition including the cabinet, the chassis and the faceplate. It is very difficult to find one of these radios in this condition as it is indeed a rare find. The radio actually works well as it receives and transmits. I connected it to an Antron 99 base station vertical antenna and I was able to receive and transmit a signal to several local stations here in S.C. I used a D104 microphone(which is not included with this listing) with this radio and got good audio reports as well. The wonderful quality of its tube audio is great to hear. It appears that all of the 24 ... morechannels are working. All of the radios vacuum tubes and nuvistors. Have been checked on a B&K tube tester and all of them checked good. As far as I can tell, all of the filter capacitors are good. All of the controls and switches have been cleaned out. The radio is very clean and has some scratches and slight imperfections on it, which for a unit of over fifty years old, is a great find. The original painted metal cabinet is in good condition with scratches that could easily be touched up. The process of additional cleaning up of this radio along with the touch up painting of the cabinet would transform this radio to excellent condition. Included in this sale will be a good working 120 vac power cord wired for this radio. There is no microphone included with this sale. You must properly wire up a microphone to this radio for it to receive and transmit as it is electronic switching and not relay switching. I will include a copy of the microphone wiring diagram for this radio so you can easily hook up the microphone of your choice to it. This radios s meter is not working. Polytronics Poly-Comm 2 2M AM tube type transceiver: Transmitter works, no RX.
Hi Folks! Up for your consideration is another 1960’s tube type classic: A Polytronics Poly-Comm 2 two meter AM transceiver. I have listed this as“parts. Non-working” because it doesn’t receive or have receive audio. It does transmit and modulate fine! To paraphrase Fair Radio Sales. It is“used, reparable” I have had the unit follow me around for at least 25 years. And since I don’t have the time to properly restore it, I’m passing it along to you. Here’s what I know: The unit has both VFO and Xtal transmit. With the VFO. I get about 1 watt out at 144 M/c, and between two and three watts at 148 M/c. At about 146.52 M/c. It runs right at 1.8 watts with 115 VAC on the unit. Modulation is 100% No problem at all(I would hope so, as it has a pair of 6BQ5’s for plate modulation! The 7551 final is new. I installed it apparently about 1990. The VFO ... moreshifts frequency in a jittery pattern. So I suspect the tuning cap ground connections need DeOxit. I did check the speaker. It reads about 6 Ohms, so it is probably OK. Cramming a high level signal into the input at 146.52 causes the“S” meter to have two peaks around 145 M/c. The“S” meter isn’t quite zeroed. It works well on the S Meter. Driver, RF Output positions. The mike has some corrosion and pitting. But works. The power cord also works. The case has the usual dings and paint scrapes for it age. The meter knob as a small chip out of it. Other than the three case screws. It’s all there. I will work on getting the common machine screws needed later this week. Now you know what I know about it… I’m selling the rig“as is” Please check my other auctions from time to time for heavy duty RF coils. Tuning caps, and other hard to find RF and HV parts.
