The trick with these heat sealers is not how much pressure you apply to the surface you are sealing but the speed at which you pull the sealer across the surface you are sealing. Anyway. It was an experiment and I personally sealed two 9" plastic bags with this unit without issue. I can vouch that the sealing element does heat and it does seal.
