ALLOYD 20SC-1216 Blister Sealer With RF seal capability
Available today is an Alloyd 20 Station Carrousel Blister sealer with a 12" X 16" sealing area. The biggest feature this machine boasts is the ability to not only seal blisters to cards. But to also seal Blisters to Blisters using RF(Radio Frequency) sealing technology. This Alloyd machine has SEVEN feeders. This allows you to feed a bottom blister. An insert card and a top blister. Of course between those feeds, there are several open loading stations for operators to place products into the empty blister cavities. Not all 7 feeders can be used at one time. There are mechanical limitations as to how many feeders can be working during the same cycle. Cycle speeds can be reached up to around 15-18 cycles PER MINUTE. So. Lets just say that your blister card is approximately 4" wide X 5" high. We could actually seal 6 packages ... moreper cycle. Take that times 18 cycles per minutes and whammo! You just output 108 packages in 1 minute! Take that times a 50 minute work hour and we get 5,400 packages per hour. Take that times 1 eight hour shift and you just put out 43,200 packages in ONE SHIFT. This machine is no joke! It's got serious potential for big time production. It can of course be run much slower as well. There are 10-12 open loading stations for operators to hand load product into blisters showing at any one time. So there's plenty of opportunity even running at high speeds to fill the empty blisters with your product. Back to the sealing features. When running using the RF generator and with special RF tooling. We can seal plastic to plastic. Turn the RF generator off and use strictly heat, we can seal plastic to paperboard cards. The Callanan RF generator has a maximum output of 15KW. That should be more than enough to seal whatever you need. And at high speeds. The generator has a non-resettable cycle counter on it that is showing 62.562 cycles. We are assuming this is correct, but there's no real way of know if that counter has ever been replaced. AllOYD Fully Automatic Blister Sealer
We have available an older AllOYD Fully Automatic Blister Sealer. Model 6S-CBE SERIAL#84-124(6 station. Automatic: Card feed, Blister feed, and Finished Product Ejection) This has the 10" X 14" seal area so however many blister cards you can fit into that area(with about a 1/2" space between them) is how many cards per cycle can seal. Being that is a fully automatic version. It has 2 feeders. The first feeder would reach up to a"magazine" full of blister stacks, pluck off 4 at a time for example, and place them into one of the seal jigs mounted to the turn table. The table indexes one position now exposing the seal jig with blisters that just got placed. An operator would then place their product into each of the empty blisters. At every table index, both feeders place blisters and cards. There are 3 open spaces on ... morethe front of the machine for operators to stand and place product. After those 3 spaces, the cards get plucked and placed, then the next table position is the seal station. A 10"X14" heated press comes down to seal the blisters to the cards. The next table index after the seal does two things. First a set of picker arms comes down and grabs the finished sealed cards so that they get dropped out the back. As they are being dropped, the next set up of blisters is placed into the empty seal jig cavities. Cycle speeds can be up to around 15 per minute. If we were sealing 4 packages per cycle. You'd be looking at an output 60 packages per minute! Floor space wise. This needs about 7' X 8' just under that) Typically a full set of aluminum seal tooling that includes 6 seal jigs(nesting trays) 1 blister feed rack& picker plugs, 1 Card feed rack, and one heater plate adapter will run around $2,500-$4,000 depending on how complicated it is.

We know these machines inside and out. This particular machine came in to us with a broken lexan guard. A bad main seal air cylinder, loose wiring(probably from bouncing on a truck) burned out light bulbs, A leaking ... moreair pressure regulator, a broken flow control on the table rotation cylinder, and a broken cycle switch. We took this machine apart and cleaned her up inside& out. A new($750) Numatics brand air cylinder was installed to replace the"Waircom" cylinder that runs the heater plate up and down. This was a significant upgrade, as the factory"waircom" cylinders are VERY expensive to rebuild, when its time for a seal kit. The Numatics cylinder costs about $100 for a complete rebuild kit when the time comes. This NEW cylinder will have a lot of years of use before needing anything. A NEW Lexan heater guard was installed and the safety switch behind the guard was tested. The leaking air regulator was swapped out with a Non-Leaker and the cycle switch was replaced with NEW as were the light bulbs for"heater ready" and"Cycle on" The broken flow control on the table rotation speed air cylinder was replaced with NEW. All of the wiring was gone through and secured to the proper connection terminals. Illinois(now Sonoco Alloyd) It was used for small scale packaging of a Proto-Type Medical Device. The Station was engineered for full production with a 2 Position Shuttle and heavy duty chamber for what was hoped to be a long run. Its condition as can be seen in the pictures is about as close to new as you’re going to find. This unit has been stored environmentally safe for the past 4 years and was fully functional before placement.
