Vintage 1950's era Milk Transfer Unit for Automatic Milking Machine A great piece of dairy history likely dating back to the late 1950's or early 1960's. This is a milk transfer unit that would have been used with an automatic milking machine. The entire item is made of metal and is very heavyweight(9 pounds) It has the patent number imprinted on one side"Pat. 2727491" which can be researched on Google Patents to see the original drawings of the item and much more information. Overall. It is still in relatively good condition considering its age, but does show signs of use as can be expected with a piece of industrial equipment. Someone came up to me and told me that it was a crock for a de Laval cream separator. Don't know if it is so. But the item is unique. Unsigned. Just the crock part is 11 1/2" height x 5 5/8" wide. The spigots are 2 3/4" height x 2 1/8" wide. Measurements are approximate. Good used condition for being so old. Some of the stoneware inside has flaked off. There is a curved line(almost like a circle) on the outside that extends into the inside of the pot. The spigots have green oxidation. One handle will turn. The other does not. For immediate purchase is this working VINTAGE SafGard P-2000 Milk Pasteurizer with Agitator. This interesting little machine comes used. In working condition, with everything in the photos. It is constructed of aluminum and apart from some stain on the heating element and a few surface scratches; it is in terrific shape for its age. The milk pail is also aluminum with a 2 gallon capacity, and is very clean apart from a few minor abrasions. The heating chamber has some stain on the element, but I do not believe this ever makes contact with the milk. The element heated up right away when I turned it on, and the agitator which runs on a separate cord, also worked(moved up and down regularly) immediately after being plugged in. Vintage The Surge Milker Portable 5 Gal Stainless Milking Machine for Cow/Goat
Up for auction is a vintage Surge Milker. This is a recent estate sale find and appears to be in good condition except for the hoses and rubber parts were rotted. The machine itself looks good and I think all the parts are there. There are eight milkers and two hanger brackets. This machine is large. 15 inches in dia. And 8 inches high and weights about 15 lbs.It has a small dent in the top near the nameplate. With some new rubber parts this machine looks like it could be used. This is a very interesting piece of work! After I have done some research and found out that this is a Surge milking pump. In which is used to milk goat, cows and sheep. It all started making sense to me. hahahah This pump is in very good condition. Considering it is used. Its not a very big item 5 1/2 in length ~ 2 1/2 in width weighing in the ball park of 2 ~ to ~ 3 pounds. 300 Gallon Stainless Steel Bulk Milk Cooling Tank
This stainless steel bulk milk tank is on an old dairy farm 20 miles North of LaCrosse. Wisconsin. I'm not sure if the motor still works, but it did about 20 years ago. My(retired engineer) dad calculated that it should hold 500 gallons, but there are no markings on the tank that support that. It should be close based on measurements.
