A little of the surface paint is flaked off and the riveted metal name plate is slightly scuffed. Absolutely no breaks, cracks or repairs. It cranks like a dream with the gearing so that just a couple of full circle revolutions make it spin at a high RPM. 6S3M-446 appears on the inside cone. Also, the number 300 is on the top funnel tray. It's probably from the teens to 1920's era. The metal ID plate states"ORDER PARTS AT ANY MONTGOMERY WARD RETAIL STORE or by MAIL" This unit came out of an old farm house where it had been stored for many years. The name of the company in Sweden was Aktiebolaget Separator Company or AB Separator Company. In the United States the company was known as the DeLaval Separator Company and the factory was in Poughkeepsie. New York. This was a patent obtained by the AB Separator Company that was issued to two German inventors. Wilhelm Lefeldt and Carl Lentsch, for a centrifugal machine for creaming milk. However the separator in that patent was not continuous. It used centrifugal force to separate the cream from the milk but it had to be stopped to remove the cream. The advantage of Gustaf de Laval's invention was that the milk did not have to be separated in batches but rather the milk could be continuously separated without stopping. Vintage MILK/CREAM Separator Funnel Shaped 12 ¼” Diameter. This is an old item I found at my grandma’s house. It is funnel shaped and made of(I think) tinned steel. It has a squeeze clamp strainer insert. Locks into place nicely. It measures 11” tall and 12 ¼” in diameter. It is in good used condition with some signs of cosmetic wear, but good for it’s age. It has a slight dent outside pushing in, below the handle. Would be a great conversation piece or has many possibilities.

Antique Montgomery Ward Table Top Hand Crank Cream Separator Cow Goat Dairy Milk Product Details: Antique Montgomery Ward Table Top Hand Crank Cream Separator Model 44HM-4607-A Includes the parts shown in the pictures(I tried to itemize them below) I have little to no experience with cream separators. So I am relying on you to determine if this item is complete or if it is missing parts. I believe you would assemble the parts in the order noted below(from the bottom up) The hand cranked base is made of cast iron and turns ... morevery easily. I can tell there are gears inside and they whirr with a pleasing sound to my ears. The spindle only turns when the handle is cranked clockwise. The base is quite oily and has grime on it from the mixture of oil and barn dust. The corners opposite the handle down at the bottom appear to be missing their ears for bolting to the table(they look and feel broken off) And one other one next to the handle is half broken off, leaving only one complete hole for mounting. I don't see anything else wrong with it. There is what looks like a hanger for holding most of the following parts that together would sit on and spin with the spindle of the base: 1) shallow cone-shaped part with tube projecting above it which is threaded on the end with a nut on it. It fits into the base below the spouts referenced below. And spins on the spindle. When assembled with the following parts it is heavy enough to act as a flywheel of sorts. I believe the following parts go on this part in the order I present them, but you will need to verify that for yourself(see my pictures) 1) rubber o-ring. Milk Cream Separator, manual, hand crank, 50L / hour
Hand crank cream seperator from Ukraine. I bought it awhile ago. Works fine with a strong arm! I sold my goats, and so too the separator. May be a touch of rust. It'll scrub off easy. Comes with instructions in(not english) Wrench, allen key, mounting screws. OK so here is my version of instructions: as best I remember) Add oil to crank case before use! Add clean motor oil(what I used) or 3in1 or similar(machine oil) Enough to keep everything lubed without overflowing the case. ~ 1pint should do it. ASSEMBLY: From the ground up: The base- crank case On the spindle pointing up from the case goes the"separating assembly" made of metal) The spindle is slotted and the assembly mates into it. Over the seperating assembly go the 2 funnel/spouts. Larger'hole in the middle' goes under the smaller'hole in the middle' ... moreOn top of those go a part that looks like a flat cup on a stand with a little hole in the center. In the cup goes a hollow plastic disk. The large bowl goes on top of it all. Finally. The"gate" fits in the hole in the bowl. Turn the gate 1/4 turn to let milk flowing or stopped(you can see where the holes line up) As for the seperating assembly: its already together- take it apart mindfully so you can easily reassemble) There is a nut on top of the cone with 2 holes for the wrench to fit. Snug but don't crank on it! When you open it. There is: Base with a pipe sprouting out it. Rubber O-ring fits in the base of the base. A plastic sleeve to go on the pipe. Mate the hole in the sleeve with the peg on the base. Cones go on next. 2 kinds smooth and dimple. Start with dimple. Then smooth, etc. End with dimple. Cones only go on the sleeve in one orientation. Then goes the plastic top cone. There is a little screw in it. This is adjusted with the allen wrench. I forget which way is what but the screw adjusts the cream"thickness" So if cream is watery adjust one way. If milk still has cream in it, adjust the other way. This is a really great old De Laval cream separator that is in working condition. It is complete with the manual. And was put away clean and kept inside.
