The name of the company in Sweden was Aktiebolaget Separator Company or AB Separator Company. In the United States the company was known as the DeLaval Separator Company and the factory was in Poughkeepsie. New York. Gustaf de Laval patented the centrifugal separator in 1878 and a great number of other inventions including the Milk Machine. De Laval worked on behalf of the farmer and strove for progress in milk production. This old can carried the oil that was especially adapted to Cream Separators and other light high speed machines. The can measures 5" tall. 4" deep& 6 1/2" wide. The can is slightly dented in 3 areas and there is some rust on the bottom. Generally speaking this old can has a nice old patina. The pictures show all sides of the can. The front and one side are especially nice.

The actual valve body, shut off handle, and butterfly are nice bright stainless shine. The two nuts are more tarnished and stained from use. The hardened plastic nut is good used condition.
