Description Vintage SURGE BRASS SWING VALVE. Connected to about 14 feet of good flexible hose that would be hooked to the SURGE vacuum pump and milker lines. The hand valve works just fine. I know that with a little elbow grease, it will totally clean up like new. The word SURGE appears on both sides of the hand valve which is deeply stamped into the metal or probably cast into it at the time of manufacture. It is spring loaded on the bottom. Description Vintage SURGE MILKER made by BABSON BROTHERS. Chicago, Ill. All stainless large bucket, teat cups, and the pulsator cover. It is in excellent condition, other than the rubber hoses would need to be replaced to be functional if so desired. The milker has been sitting on the shelf in the milkhouse for a number of years since the dairyman utilized them. I'm not the original owner, but was told the they were being used until the time they were place on the shelf several years ago, however, I didn't try them, nor do I know anything positive about the pulsator. I do know that the milker bucket is very clean inside and out and only has a few minor dings. The larger teat cups are very straight and totally dent free. The large rubber cups on the end of the stainless tat cylinders appear to be fine. The handle and cover retaining ... moretab may have been soldered or brazed over the years. Someone did an excellent job. Both are smooth and strong. The inside cover gasket appears to be fine. About 16-1/2" in diameter x 11.75" high to top of the handle. I believe this style milker to be from the 1950-60's era when converting from buckets to a future of direct pipeline. The milker was tucked away in a cabinet of an old milk house on a discontinued dairy operation. Everything looks excellent, except some of the hoses will need to be replaced for operation purposes. Absolutely no dings, dents, cracks or repairs to any piece including the stainless teat holders, pulsator, main hub reservoir, and the heavy stainless pipe with the flow valve. Yes, the flow valve works easily and fine. The hard plastic clear reservoir has"SURGE" embossed into it. I'm guessing that quite possibly BOU-MATIC contracted with SURGE for this particular ... moreportion of their milkers. The main air line rubber is actually quite good at about 10 feet. It's the short rubber lines form the reservoir to the teat cups that would needs some replacement. The hosed being weather checked and cracking are the only one defect I can find with this unit. The previous owner assured me that everything was operational at the time the milking was discontinued. However, naturally, I did not have the opportunity to see the equipment in operation, therefore, I am listing it as a parts unit. I do have another one exactly like in currently listed as well if interested. That's why the photos all have the letter"B" next to them) The difference in the(2) is that this one has(2) of the(4) plastic pointed stems for hose hookups are chipped right at the very end.
