This is a used surge dairy claw with a shut off valve that fits on top of a surge pulsator bucket. The outside of the plastic cup says Surge. The plastic is free from cracks. But has a piece broken off from one end of one of the stems that the teet cup fit onto, as hopefully the pictures will show. Maybe it will still work, or use as parts. The end of the stem with the shut off calve measures approximately 5/8" across. This unit comes as as found. It will need cleaned, and the gasket may possibly need replaced. First let me say I have no idea just what this equipment was used for or how it was used. I purchased this at an estate sale where there was dairy milking equipment. You are bidding on just what is pictured, appears to be some type of milk storing unit and strainer that would have hung on the wall in the milking area of the barn. Everything is stainless steel and is very clean- I believe this is possibly older milking equipment used to store milk during the morning and evening milking times? Just a guess. The large funnel shaped bucket measures 21 inches tall and 18 inches in diameter, the large canister on the top measures 19 x 19 x 7 1/2 inches, the only thing not stainless is the hoop or support ring and it is iron. The inner disc has drilled holes all around the outside and some on the inside circle(strainer? Vintage wooden box veterinary mastitis test kit equipment dairy farm
The box is basically a wooden block with holes drilled for the test tubes and chemical(thybromol) additive. There is a clasp on each end to secure the two halves of the block. A couple wooden pegs ensure that it is lined up properly to secure. The 4 test tubes have etched areas to write on and a line for level. There is a red manufacturer decal on one side. The instructions note that it was made by Haver-Glover labs of Kansas City. Missouri. I always that KC was more of a beef than milk town. This would be a great collectable for a dairy farmer or vet. Condition: The box finish is worn and has some chips on the bottom. The thybromol bottles are missing. Glass tubes have no chips or cracks; still have some dirt in the bottom. Size: 7 inches long. 5 inches high and 1 3/4 inches wide. Thank you!
