I don't know much about this. I can't find another exact model online. It says Model LAK and because it was for the Navy, has a different tag than other Hickok models. I am selling this as untested. Motorola Model S-1318A FM signal generator- S/N: 887. Made by Measurements. Boonton, NJ- Circa early 1970's. This is a later solid state version of one of the classic pieces of test equipment found on the bench and in the service vans of many two way radio shops of the 50's- 70's- before service monitors became the norm. That's where this particular piece came from- I've had it for 6 years or so and it's worked well for me. Six frequency ranges: 25-32. 32-41, 41-54, 130-175, 400-470, and 890-960(2nd harmonics) Mhz. this is the model that also has an IF band generator built in- BNC jack for output. Those ranges are: 2.4-3.9, 3.9-6.0, 6.8-9.4, and 69-76MHz, plus there are a couple crystal jacks on the front panel for 250 Khz- 1 Mhz. I never had occasion to use the 890-960 band or the IF generator- they both show output ... moreto my frequency counter(the 890-960Mhz RF band reads@ 1/2 the dial frequency) This piece also has the 6dB attenuator pad on the output(you read output level on the right side line on the clear plastic overlay of the output dial) the output of the pad is an"SO-239" UHF female connector that mates with a"PL-259" UHF male. No RF or IF output cable is supplied with this item. I never had this instument calibrated or serviced- it always worked fine for me and the results were completely consistent with the specs of the working equipment that I checked with it. So what’s so great about this old clunker you ask? Yes. The E-200D is an old clunker but it's a great little inexpensive signal generator. It has several features that set it apart from other cheapie generators: 1. It has a calibrated output that goes all the way down to 1 microvolt. 2. The internal shielding keeps signal from leaking out. 3. It has a crystal marker for setting the output frequency. The first two features allow using the E-200D to align sensitive receivers. Cheaper generators generally have poor shielding and so they leak lots of ... moresignal. If you run the output down to zero on a cheap generator. A sensitive receiver will still show a strong signal. Signal is leaking. Another nice feature of the E-200D is a crystal marker. Which lets you accurately set the output frequency. It’s pretty accurate as-is, but on this page you will also find instructions on how to add a frequency counter for even better accuracy. As an added bonus. As you can see in the pictures the unit powers up and produces a wave form pattern. I am sure that's not calibrated and need fine tuning since it is well over 60 years old. Before anyone ask. You are bidding on the Hickok unit, the oscilloscope is not part of the deal. What you are getting is a vintage Hickok signal generator that does produce wave patterns. Unlike some you might buy that your not sure of what your getting. The only thing that I noticed on it that need attention was the slip coupling for changing the frequency is a little loose. Up for bids is a used and Triplett Oscilloscope manufactured by the Triplett Instrument Co in Bluffton Ohio around or about 1948 or so. Unit appears to be in good condition with acceptable usage and wear marks. The unit was not fully tested but given a detailed inspection. I plugged in the unit and switched it on. The power light came on and it did not blow my garage circuit. A little bit of paint is chipping around the front of the unit. The lens that covers the small meter on front is in tact with no scratches or cracks. The carrying strap on top is in great condition. No burns or burn smells. All of the buttons and knobs are in good working order and lines up properly with the settings. I did not open the unit for a tube check. Looks like the unit ... morehas never been opened. Operating manual. Probes and test leads are not included. The original cost back in 1948 was around or about $154.00.
