Wavetek Model 3000 Signal Generator. For Parts. Servicable? THE GOOD: The unit powers up. None of the LEDs on the 4 modules that have them are lighted. The front panel attenuator works as far as I can tell. The front LEDs work. see the pictures) The case sides. Top and bottom are in pretty good shape given normal usage. The inside is very clean. THE NOT SO GOOD: The frequency of the output is not what is shown on the selector switches but it is stable. There is a note on the M172 module stating that it has a problem. The front panel attenuator dial plate is cracked in 2 places. That is all the testing/checking I have done to it. This sig gen has been sitting in my storage room for a long time. ITEM IS SOLD AS IS. MODEL. FEATURES, CONDITION: The Eico Model 315 is an impressive looking piece of test equipment to have on the bench with its large central tuning dial. Black control knobs, dual pilot lighted dial window, and“suitcase” style portability. The instrument was recently serviced, and the old obsolete Amphenol output connectors were replaced with BNC type that will be much more compatable with today’s cables and adapters. The old oozing wax/ foil capacitors were replaced with modern caps of the proper voltage rating, and it was obvious that this piece had seen very little use, as there were no discolored, swollen or stressed components, nor any dust build-up on the beautifully preserved copper plated chassis. The old stiff power cord was replaced with a safe pliable one, and the unit was tested. Generator will prove to be a valuable instrument ... moreto have when aligning radios, etc where you can switch in the on-board modulation circuit or externally modulate a signal on top of the RF signal. RF signal is adjustable from 75 KHz all the way up to 150 MHz in six adjustable steps on the Band Selector. Smoothly geared tuning condenser has great stability, and the dial index mark accurately points to the proper frequency calibrations. Photos of the electronics will show that this unit has a neat layout on a copper plated chassis. Pots and switches have been properly cleaned and work well, with switches positively engaging. The unit has been tested, and the signals are present at all frequencies. The audio test signal is working as well with a very clean sine wave output. Modulation circuit works as well, and it was interesting to have a radio nearby to listen to the beat note and whistling as the IF and RF frequencies were being matched. Cosmetics are excellent overall with a fine gray textured wrinkle finish on the cabinet, clean front panel, and the carry handle is safe and sturdy. EICO SIGNAL GENERATOR Model 324 w Test Leads&User Manual- Works!
This is a working 1950's EICO Model 324 Signal Generator. Frequency range is 150kc to 435mc in six bands. Having obtained this from an electronics trade school. It is in excellent cosmetic condition, as shown in the photos. Included are the test leads and the original EICO instruction manual. For testing, using a digital shortwave radio and the RF Ext Mod Selector, I was able to hear selected zero beat harmonics on various frequencies from 400khz to 30mhz. All harmonics were extremely close to the dial frequency on the signal generator. The Signal Selector switch is somewhat hard to turn, probably needs some lubrication. This unit powers on and indicator light glows an orange-red color and all switches and knobs move smoothly to all positions. Grey metal case has no dents and paint is in good shape. PRECISION Signal Generator Model Series# E-200) Hello! and thank you for looking at my item. Up for bids is a used test meter manufactured by Precision Apparatus Co in 1940. The unit has not been fully tested but was given a detailed inspection. The unit has some paint spots on top and some minor surface rust. The handle on top is missing. It was probably a leather handle that dry rotted. The unit was plugged in and it did power up. The plug has a small chip missing. It does not interfere with the operation of the unit. On the front of the unit are 2 plastic dial indicators on top of the main dial. The bottom plastic indicator has melted and somewhat warped and has lost its shape. All of the buttons and knobs are present. Turns smoothly and lines up properly with the required setting. This unit contains tubes. All 3 tubes were removed and ... morereplaced for testing(1ea 6SJ7-strong, 1ea 6C5-strong and 1ea 80-strong) The original 6SJ7 tested weak. I replaced it with a strong 6SJ7. All of the tubes are strong. The unit appears to be in good shape. There are no burn marks or smells emitting from the unit. No operators manuals or test leads. They are missing. Excellent edition to any vintage radio collector and or radio/component repairer. This is a vintage item and normally returns are not accepted however based on EBAYs returns policy.
