This will come with a 14-day warranty which will start upon the date of arrival. I am not sure what the history behind this is. I am unable to to test the XLR ports. But I did hook this up to my stereo through the 1/4" headphone jack. I ran the frequency tests, and they worked nicely. I was able to get an appropriate response from my speakers. This is a very nice unit, and would be great for diagnostic work on sound systems or for testing audio equipment. Questions are encouraged and don’t forget to check out my. Vintage Hickok Model 288x Signal Generator Working Test Equipment What we have up for auctions is a Hickok model 288x signal generator. As you can see in the pictures the unit powers up and produces a wave form pattern. I am sure that's not calibrated and need fine tuning since it is well over 60 years old. Before anyone ask. You are bidding on the Hickok unit, the oscilloscope is not part of the deal. What you are getting is a vintage Hickok signal generator that does produce wave patterns. Unlike some you might buy that your not sure of what your getting. The only thing that I noticed on it that need attention was the slip coupling for changing the frequency is a little loose. I carefully powered it up on a Variac and was able to hear heterodynes as I tuned the generator and listened on a broadcast band radio. This is yet another restoration I planned to do. Nice looking vintage Triumph 1341 signal generator with big vernier airplane-style frequency dial(photo 1) Covers AM frequencies from 100kHz to 96MHz in five bands. Output level is adjustable using a range switch and an attenuation pot. Modulation choices include 400 cycle. External, unmodulated, and 400 cycle audio. Controls are nicely laid out and front panel artwork matches the better known Triumph Oscilloscopes. The unit measures 13" wide by 9" high by 8" deep and weighs about 17 pounds. This 131 is serial number 1045. Made in the USA(see last photo) It's in good cosmetic condition with both output cables and a decent line cord. Some screws are missing from the front panel and the output potentiometer is stiff(needs ... morelubrication) The external modulation socket was either never installed or has been filled with a hole plug(see photo 1) I tested this signal generator using an ordinary AM radio. I set the radio to 1210KHz(where there is no local station) Wrapped an output lead around the antenna, and tuned the signal generator through 1210KHz. As it passed through that frequency the AM radio picked up the signal. I could adjust the signal strength using the output range switch. That is all the testing I did, but it shows that this signal generator is working to some degree. For safety it would be a good idea to replace the power supply capacitors if you plan to use this regularly. I have been collecting and restoring antique electronics for more than 30 years. Signal Generator by Superior Instruments Co. Model TV-50A Classic Test Equipment
OK. Well here is a classic Signal Generator by Superior Instruments Company out of New York, New York. Model TV-50A. This unit is untested but is in great cosmetic condition except for the bottom of the metal box. It looks like the case at the bottom has been subjected to some moisture but when I opened it up the inside is dry and the chassis is connected about half way down anyway so it looks like the corrosion is only on the bottom. The rest of the unit looks great for it's age. Ask all questions about the unit before the end of the time frame! Sale comes with signal generator by itself and has an AC plug connected to it! Unit also has Tubes inside. Check out my pictures for they are of quality and make a decision of your own of the condition.
