I would absolutely trust my life with this gear and would feel comfortable using it today if I had the need. Leather is a bit stiff but in tact with the exception of the leg harness on the one side. This would need to be"Magivered" to be used. All that it would need to be used right away would be something like a Velcro strap around the spike piece Stitching is all good All buckles. The belt does have a broken leather strap that was for something(in the main picture. It is the strap on the left between the belt and the spike) Auction includes all parts shown. Description This sale is for this lot of 4 assorted Antique wrought iron loggers or lineman pole or tree climbing spikes as purchased from an old estate clean out.They are all a bit different with different maker's names stamped in them. There is only one with old leather straps.These are marked"J. donnelly 16"There is another aprox 16" pair marked JHNWLLDON,tand they have some noticable bends,then there is a longer pair with a"J.B L.alonde Maker" stamped in them,Theyt ae aprox 18.5' tall,These look fairly straight.The iron looks good condition overall.There is alot of signs of wear and use and some surface rust,the pair with the buckles and strapes seem sharp but the leathers is dry and a bit mildewy as found.Add these unique items from the past to your collection.Please view pics and feel free to ... moreemail questions.Item sold"as is"Thanks for looking. 2 Lineman pole/ tree climbing spikes,1belt,1saftey strap and extra 2straps # 918
This was my Dads Lineman spikes. Belt, safety strap. They have been in a barn for 14 years. And havent been use or tested for that long. The belt and the safety strap was in the original plastic bags with some holes in the bags. So there is a little bit of corrosion on the metal but can be cleaned off. The Blue/white ajustable hooks are Klein hooks with buckingham model 3500 top padded nylon w/ Velcro straps. The second set are Buckingham model 3922 leather adjustable the spike looks larger than the fist set maybe for trees? The belt is a Miller 8435 nylon with a leather end. The safety strap is a Buckingham 3660. I have 2 extra hook straps and a extra Klein leather top part for a hook. I know nothing about this stuff I don't like heights or electricity so me ever using these will not happen. Look good at the picks I'm sure you know ... morewhat I have more than I do! FOR SALE IS A VINTAGE SET OF M KLEIN& SONS(BELL SYSTEM 15 1/2" A 4-41) CLIMBING SPIKES/ GAFFS. THESE GAFFS/ SPIKES ARE IN GOOD SHAPE WITH EXTRA LONG(3 3/4" SPURS FOR GOOD DEEP PENETRATION THE SPURS WERE MEASURED AS USABLE SPUR/ NOT COUNTING THE BRAZED PORTION. THE SPIKES HAVE OLDER LEATHER THAT IS IN GOOD/ SOLID CONDITION WITH THE STRAPS BEING REPLACEMENTS FROM LONG BEFORE I BOUGHT THEM.
