RARE VIN"TAGE HUGE BUFFALO METER COMPANY 11 1/2" DIAL WATER OR GAS METER GAUGE
For auction is the biggest meter/ gauge Ive ever owned. This is a huge gas or water meter made by the Buffalo Meter Company. Buffalo NY. The tag has the number 2738309 on it as seen in photo 9. The dial has numbers from 0 to 190 on the large 11 1/4 inch diameter face. The face is model number 1050-A. The glass over the face is in good used shape with normal wear. The upper half of this piece is some kind of metal, probably cast aluminum, and the whole thing is painted a gold color. I think the whole bottom rounded section is brass, I believe. I tested the whole thing with a magnet and the only parts that stuck were the nuts on the base. The entire piece weighs 71 pounds. The paint shows wear from use and age. The face is dirty and could use to be cleaned, along with the brass base. The openings on the base are about 2 inches diameter, that's ... morenot the size of the threaded end, just the opening. The piece measures 20 1/2 inches tall. The base measures 15 1/2 inches wide from end to end of the pipe fittings, and the base is about 13 inches deep.
