2011 10.5 meter Flexifoil Ion 5 Kiteboarding Kite with Bar and Line Set, no pump
Up for bids is my used 10.5 meter 2011 model Flexifoil Ion 5 with bar and line set(no pump is included) My poor 10.5 was the newest of my Ions. And in the best condition, until disaster struck. The wind died and my kite went down, no big deal. I was swimming in and a two foot wave took my kite in, also no big deal, but at the same time my board got ripped out of my hands and went in along side the kite. When I caught up to the kite it was nearly ripped in half. I can only assume the fins of the board sliced through the canopy as the wave was tiny. The good news is I had it professionally repaired at Prokite in Texas(for $175.00- ouch) and it flies perfectly. Unfortunately they must not have had the correct color canopy fabric because they used some funky white fabric. Whatever. At least it flies well. So it's still a great kite, but probably ... moreis more suitable for a backup or a kite to learn on now because you really can't be cool with a giant repair slicing down the middle of your kite. There is only one small tape repair to the canopy just behind the strut and some small abrasions to the"scuff guards" along the wing-swept areas. There are some minor stains to the trailing edge of the canopy, but nothing super noticable. Air test proved rock solid bladders and struts with no leaks. Kite is in great condition! Simply trading in for a new 2013 model!This kite was my session saver this past off-season. It was great for those 10- 15 mph late summer afternoons. It is still good for on-season riding but for heavier riders.There is one professional repair on the leading edge. There was no bladder damage and there have been no bladder repairs. I noticed a VERY small hole(about the size of a tip of a pen) in the canopy. This was repaired with a simple Dacron tape patch(reference pics)Selling with bar/lines and bag. Before we tell you all about the characteristics of the Cabrinha Crossbow you must know that Cabrinha was the first company to ever launch a bowkite. This was of course Cabrinha’s Crossbow. Cabrinha Bar The depower system looks a bit futuristic but it’s no more complex than any other. There’s a solid attachment for your suicide leash. It’s quality stuff and all really well made. Real shame about the stopper ball though: it definitly is not reliable. So screw the stopperball and do not use it. The Cabrinha Crossbow is heavy on the arms. But you do not need to depower so much because of the enormous depower it has on the bar. Steering the kite is not that ok. I think the pullys on the kite are responsible for this. It will sit still through anything and once it turns it really turns, but you have to put a hell of a lot of input into the bar. Naish 9 meter boxer c-kite with bar and lines
For sale is what I believe to be a 2005 Naish boxer 9 meter c kite. The sale includes kite. Bag, bar, and lines. The kite is in excellent condition and has only been used once. It has been in storage and is still crispy, all of the bladder nipples have been replaced with new airtime type nipples($70 value) so it holds air like new. There are a couple of minor stains where the black ink faded onto the yellow while in storage, other than that the kite is in top condition. I am throwing in an old(probably 2003) slingshot bar with I think 27 meter lines. The bar is not in the best shape but works fine with this kite. Because of the excellent condition of this kite I am tempted to keep it for myself but I already have that place in my quiver filled and I could use the money. Thanks for looking.
