VINTAGE 1951 BUCKINGHAM LEATHER LINEMAN'S CLIMBING BELT & 6" SAFETY STRAP
This is a vintage 1951 Buckingham lineman pole climbing belt& safety strap. The safety strap is about 2" wide& 6' long& stamped 7-51. The brass rivets have some green on them. The belt is about 4" wide at the back with 3 leather loops& 1 brass square loop& stamped 10-51. The pouch has 3 tool pockets but is a little on the dry side, also on the belt is a tape holder& a thin leather strip with a adjustable loop on the end. It measures about 40" fron the outside edge of the buckle to the last hole on the tongue with 7 more hole going in to about 33" The leather seems good& not dried out but could use a good saddle soaping. This came from an estate sale.

Buckingham Tree Pole Lineman Climbing Belt and Bashlin Lanyard
This is a Buckingham climbing belt and a Bashlin Industries Lanyard. The belt is a size 28. I do not know what the size chart is for the sizing. I have a size 33 waist and this belt is too big for me in the smallest hole by a couple of inches. I would guess it a 35-36 up to a 43-44 waist size. It is dated 11/98 and it is in excellent condition. The lanyard is a Bashlin. It is made of two very heavy leather straps sewn together with what looks like may be a nylon material between the leather straps. It has the numbers 78-C on it. I got these from the estate of a guy that worked on the Rock Island railroad. I would assume they were for doing repair work on the telegraph lines that ran along the track. Leather is old and dry. Neetsfoot oil or other good shoe oil would make them a lot nicer. Old vintage equipment that I am sure was fine when it was retired. But I would not sell it for use and consider it a collector's item only out of safety concerns. I would have loved to had this setup when I was a kid!

I started the Lineman program at my local college but due to certain circumstances I had to drop out. The belt was only used a couple of times during climbing exercises. It's still pretty much new. Lineman Climbing Tools Miller Belt, Bashlin Pole Climbers & Klein Tool Bag
Up for auction is this set of Lineman Climbing Tools. The belt is a Miller Brand D-Size 25. In great used condition with no loose stitching or enlarged holes. It comes with a 4 pocket tool pouch, a Bashlin Ditty bag and a nylon positioning strap. The leather is soft and supple. The pole climbers are Bashlin Orange offset hooks. These are used with normal signs of use. The gaffs have a great tip profile with gaff guards, straps in great condition with no enlarged holes or cuts. The C-pads are in good condition and have no damage, straps in great condition with no enlarged holes or cuts. Tool bag is Klein Camo with leather straps and leather bottom.
