This is a vintage fly fishing rod. It has never been used and was in the original plastic sleeve and red cardboard tube when I found it. It even has its original price tag from the sporting good store it was purchased at years ago. The markings on the rod say"Phanton SPET 66" It is a dark brown with black accents. There is cork as well as what looks like aluminum where the rod would attach. The handle is birch and is new as well. I fished this pole last Fall in Estes Park on the Thompson and it really performed well. Rare Antique Japanese Keyaki Jizai Kagi with Carved Wood Tai Fish & Pole
I am offering a rare antique Japanese Hearth Hook(Jizai Kagi) with a carved wood Tai fish(Kozaru) and bamboo pole. The height of the entire piece measures approximately 56 inches long. The bamboo pole has a diameter of approximately 3 1/4 inches and the fish is approximately 16 1/4 inches long. The bamboo is split in two places. One from top to bottom(see picture 3) and the opposite side half way up. This is not unusual for its age and the pole is structurally sound. The wooden fish is beautifully hand carved and in great condition with a small chip at the bottom of the tail. This is a magnificent show piece and when hung quite a conversation piece. This piece would be typically hung over a Japanese hearth over the fire. The center of a traditional Japanese home was the IRORI. Or sunken fireplace, located in the middle of the room. It served ... moreas a gathering place for family and friends and where a blackened tea kettle hung in perpetual readiness for their guests. The kettle was hung by a hook called the Jizai Kagi which was operated by a Kozaru. The Kozaru was often carved in the shape of a carp or other water related motif, in this case it is a"Tai" or bream fish, Japan's most celebrated fish. There were many variations of this apparatus. But it is rare to find a complete piece such as this including the Jizai Kagi, Kosaru and bamboo pole of this age. Will ship insured and will refund any significant overcharge for shipping.

This is an interesting early 9' fly fishing rod. It has the name"Sunline Flymaster" hand painted on the 6 sided bamboo shaft. It is in excellent shape with the only thing missing is the eye off of the tip of one of the ends. This is a classic 3 piece rod with an extra tip section. The bamboo is straight. And all wraps are tight. The part missing the tip is not broke off. The metal tip just slipped offof the bamboo rod. The butt section measures 37" the middle section measures 36" and the tips measure 36-1/2" The three pieces weigh 6 ounces. This rod came out of an Estate in Helena Montana. Thanks for looking. Antique 45 Star Flag On Wooden Pole
The item for sale is a United States 45 star flag. 21"x 12" The wooden pole is 33" long. It appears to me to be screen printed on some sort of thin canvas. It is an extremely nice old flag.
