Bashlin Lineman's Belt, Floridian 88, D21, 6 ft. Pole Strap, Klein Parts Bag
There's something about high quality leather work. And Bashlin has got it with their Floridian 88 lineman's belt. This belt is in great shape. There is some wear and tear through out. But nothing I can see that would affect safety. Durability, performance or even the looks of this belt. It is a size D21 and is 32 1/2 to 42 1/2 inches long, measured from the inside of the buckle to the prong holes. The pole strap also in great shape. It is 6 ft long made of latigo leather reinforced with nylon. The snaps both work well with plenty of spring. The belt itself shows some wear. But nothing serious. There's also a Klein 5142-P parts bag. The seam along one side of the inner pocket is about half ripped out. But, the bag itself is good, made of heavy canvas. The bottom is lined with leather that has a grommeted drain hole. This is used ... moregear. If you take it up a pole. It's your choice. Still, this is top quality gear in good condition. VINTAGE POLE CLIMBING SAFETY TOOL BELT - BASHLIN SAFETY STRAP - BASHLIN SPIKES?
This is a vintage set of pole climbing equipment. The leather belt is 5" wide with some tool pouches& measures about 43" from the outside edge of the buckle to the last hole on the tongue strap& has heavy duty hardware. The Bashlin safety strap is 1 5/8" wide& looks to be more of a canvas with heavy duty snap locks. I believe the climbing spikes are also Bashlin but hard to make out the markings. They are about 17" long with good points& upper leather but missing the bottom strap. This set came from an estate sale& he was a retired from the phone co. I used some saddle soap on the leather but it's still old& a little stiff.

Antique pole climbing spikes, VERY COOL, strap on, logging gear or electric gear
This vintage pair of climbing spikes is up for bid. There is no reserve on this bidding. So good luck. Back in the day, electricians and loggers would use these strap-on spikes for pole climbing purposes. The body of them is made out of steel, heated and shaped and fashioned to have the right angle for the spike to bite into the pole as they made their ascent. The straps are very sturdy leather, with a large buckle. These have to be put on tightly, because your life would depend on them. I believe these are from the 60's or 70's. Nowadays they have equipment that can raise a man up and down, but loggers may still use similar rigging. 16.5" tall, and the pairs weighs about 3 pounds. Klein-Buhrke 5228 Linesman Pole or Tree Climbing Utility Belt w Strap Good Used
Lightly used climbing belt w strap. Both in very good condition. Aluminium tag reads Klein-Buhrke, Model 5228, Serial 54357, Date Mfg 1-70. Although this is an older belt, it is very well made and has been kept in great condition. Well padded with heavy duty ring and clips. Leather is still solid but pliable, stitching and rivets are all tight. Please view all my photos and you'll see how nice this belt is. Fastened in the outer hole, waist belt measures 45" around the inside and can be used up to 8 1/2" smaller- 36 1/2" at tightest hole. Previous owner has added an extra hole between the first and second tightest holes. Looks like previous owner has cut off two leather tabs of some sort that would have hung at lower left and right on the belt(see photos) Pole strap is 1 3/4" wide heavy reinforced nylon( and is shown ... moreat 52" total length with lots of adjustment left in either direction. If you need me to be more specific as to length adjustments please ask. Heavy duty hooks/closures, all rivets are tight and I see no cuts or worn spots. Metal strap at end is marked Klein& Sons 5295 with an issue date of 2-77(1977) Although this is an older set, I see nothing that would keep it from being as safe as anything made today. I'm parting out an old Bell Systems Tool Bag that I came across. The leather tool belt is solid and flexible. The copper rivets have green tarnish. I cleaned a few of them. It is dated 1963. The Pole/Tree Climbing Strap is solid and flexible& the hooks work properly. It clamps right onto the tool belt. The belt stamped Klein Kord on it and the metal is dated 1973. The buckles and clasps are forged steel or aluminum. The rivets and tags on the belt are copper and steel. Very well made to have lasted this long.
