Nice set of vintage climbing equipment. Buckingham Manufacturing Company Bell System Belt is leather with heavy duty buckle and rings for tree/ pole strap. Has built in tool holders. Metal reinforcement on belt has what appears to be brass fasteners. The backside of the buckle is imprinted with what appears to say Bell System and some other worn lettering- see photos. On the back of the belt is a brass tag that has some numbers and Buckingham. Tree/ Pole strap is leather with heavy duty snap hooks that snap onto rings on belt. Adjustable with heavy duty buckle. Spikes are heavy metal with leather padded pieces at the top. Points are sharp. Metal has signs of use with some minor twist in the metal- see photos. On the back of one of the spikes it says. Klein-Buhrke 5228 Linesman Pole or Tree Climbing Utility Belt w Strap Good Used
Lightly used climbing belt w strap. Both in very good condition. Aluminium tag reads Klein-Buhrke, Model 5228, Serial 54357, Date Mfg 1-70. Although this is an older belt, it is very well made and has been kept in great condition. Well padded with heavy duty ring and clips. Leather is still solid but pliable, stitching and rivets are all tight. Please view all my photos and you'll see how nice this belt is. Fastened in the outer hole, waist belt measures 45" around the inside and can be used up to 8 1/2" smaller- 36 1/2" at tightest hole. Previous owner has added an extra hole between the first and second tightest holes. Looks like previous owner has cut off two leather tabs of some sort that would have hung at lower left and right on the belt(see photos) Pole strap is 1 3/4" wide heavy reinforced nylon( and is shown ... moreat 52" total length with lots of adjustment left in either direction. If you need me to be more specific as to length adjustments please ask. Heavy duty hooks/closures, all rivets are tight and I see no cuts or worn spots.
