From the inlet to the outlet, it measures just under 11" The bronze bell area, not including the clamping tabs, looks to measure around 7 1/2- 8" The overall height looks to measure about 14 1/2" The large gauge is just under 6 1/2" in diameter. Vintage Trident Neptune brass water meter with iron clamp on base Steampunk
Nice condition brass water meter from Neptune Meter Co. NY. The clamp on base is rusted but is removable(as shown in the last pic) if painting is desired. The gasket was dry rotted that went between the iron base and the bottom of the brass meter. Glass is unbroken. Some discoloration to the brass but good overall condition. I wiped this with Windex but a more thorough cleaning may be desired if used for display. Weighs just over 11 pounds.

Antique Vintage Brass Neptune Meter Co. Trident Water Meter NY 6 Analog Dials This is a great vintage piece! The brass housing is in great shape and all the cover markings are completely legible and well-formed. The original glass is in place and nice and clear too. But the best part is that the mechanism with its 6 analog clockwork dials is still there and working! The face looks to be porcelain and the markings are clear and sharp. The gearing is nice and bright and runs freely. Turning the stem on the back moves the gears correctly. Additionally. The padding ring between the brass and the glass is there as is the metal“spring” that keeps it in place when the meter is mounted. The meter removes easily from the housing since the housing isn’t bolted down to anything. There are several service( date stamps on the underside of the lid which ... morestart“May 21‘92” and go through some time in’499. I take it to mean 1892 since I can’t imagine this type of meter being installed new in 1992. But that seems like it might be a little too old. Would someone out there please clue be in? The dates were a little too small and faint for me to get a good picture– I tried! Please see the pictures for a more complete description and in case I’ve missed or forgotten to mention something. Also. Please don’t hesitate to ask questions or for more pictures if you can’t see something. I’m happy to help, but perhaps not the best photographer. Looks to have evidence of normal/expected age/use/handling. Basically damage& problem free, no cracks or chips, not all nicked, dinged or banged up& the hinge is ok. One thing that I can't say is if it's bronze or red brass& as usual any final call(s) are up to you, either or whatever it's still way neat& will make a great conversation piece. This lot consists of 32 turn of the century Neptune Water Meter Covers. Most are solid brass but several test out to be Bronze with some reverse polorization with a magnet. The have hinged lids and the bottoms are 3 1/8: diameter. I took a quick look. Some put wood bottoms for trinket boxes,another put paperweight but I'm sure someone with a little imagination could do many things with them. They vary a little in styles, some have numbers on the outside and some do not. I did notice one was quite a bit different with Paris on the front. Nice vintage cast brass water meter. Great for display item or door stop. Can also be made into a clock. Some have removed the top from these and made them into small boxes with the hinged lid. Some surface dirt that can be removed. The bottom is cast iron with some surface rust but will clean up. Glass is not cracked. Unknown if it works as a water meter and sold as-is for display. Vintage Trident Neptune Short Water Meter - Complete. Cast brass and steel
Nice vintage cast brass water meter. This is shorter than other ones I have seen. 7" high. It does have some paint spatters on it. Great for display item or door stop. Can also be made into a clock. Some have removed the top from these and made them into small boxes with the hinged lid. Some surface dirt that can be removed. The bottom is cast iron with some surface rust but will clean up. Glass is not cracked. Unknown if it works as a water meter and sold as-is for display. Please check the photos. This is a heavy item and will be packed well. Thanks for looking and good luck. Pretty cool old red br ass water meter for your creative pleasure. I can't say for sure if it works or not. If you'll notice in the photos it's missing the bottom metal plate/cover and the inlet side has no thread s to connect to. Must have been broken off at some point. If the buyer doesn't access to a pipe threader or tap and die I can put threads on it for them. One could do it themselves pretty easy as well. Being as it's red brass, which is around 85% copper. Very soft. Anyhow. Just let me know, I'm easy. The meter is 8" tall. The other measurements are in the photos. Th e meter is pretty heavy for it's size, weighing almost 10 lbs. Copper again.
