Vintage Buckingham Tree Climbing Belt & Klein Tree Spikes Gaffs Linesman Belt
You are bidding on a set of climbing tools. One is a Buckingham Climbing belt and two are Klein Tools Climbing spikes and Safety Strap. Both the climbing belt and spikes are vintage used equipment. The spikes are 15" from top to spike and 16" tall from top to bottom. The leather straps need to be replaced. The climbing belt shows signs of use and some oxidation on the clasps but with a little TLC this could be a decent set if you can use them. I am throwing all three in together!

This auction features a really nice pair of Klein Tools#8210 climbing spikes or gaffs. They are in great condition and were only worn a couple of times before being stored away. You can see just how nice they really are in my pictures. The metal spikes measure 10" from the top to the sharp point. Each calf strap has the number 5301 9.each of the lower straps that are hooked to the ring have the numbers 5301 26. Both of the climbers have the Klein Tools name stamped on them along with the number 8210 L for the left climber and 8210 R for the right climber. The length is adjustable as well as the straps for legs and ankles. The spikes are replaceable. There is a srew missing from one of the shaft, I have used it without but a new set of screws are $5-$8.

Klein& Sons' The climbing spikes have an aluminum shaft with a steel spike and a metal sleeve that is screwed to the top. They have leather padding and canvas straps. The leather show some light dirt type staining and the canvas straps show some wear at the holes. The aluminum show some sratching and the metal sleeve show some light tarnishing. The leather guards over the spikes have small holes worn from the point of the spike. The spike covers are marked'Bashlin Grove City. Pa. The safety harness is a heavy canvas with heavy snap buckles. The front of the snaps are marked'M.Klein& Sons' One of the steel plates that holds the buckle is stamped'Issue Date 5-71' The canvas harness does show some wear along one edge ... moreand the metal parts show some light tarnishing. They are untested and leather brittle and cracking but other wise they look like they are in good shape for how old they are. Description Here is a pair of Klein Tools#8210 L& R pole climbing spikes. The calf straps are stamped 5301 9. The foot straps are stamped 5301 26, and the metal shank is stamped 1972. They are a bit worn and dirty from use but I do not notice any breaks to the leather straps, should have lots of use left.
