These came out of Wyoming and belonged to a true old school Logger that was hard at work back in the 1960s.The patent puts the design back to 1934 but of course that's just the design.MSA has been been making safety equipment since 1914 when old Thomas Edison helped them get there start.These are adjustable and are set up for interchanging with different size gaff points.The son could not not find the longer logger points so we have to settle for the linemans.You can see in picture#9 that the WM Bashlin legging Pads were fabricated to fit this set sometime in the past by the old guy.Looks like he just bent over metal belt loop to lock into place.Would have come with leg belt straps originally I assume.Other than general wear picture#10 shows one leather belt loop that has broke.More than likely could be repaired.

These climbing spikes are in good used condition with normal signs of use. Cosmetically there are scuffs. Scratches, and surface rust, but it does not seem to effect the integrity of the item. They measure 17 1/2 inches from the top of the legging to the bottom of the spike when fully extended. When fully closed they measure 16 inches from top of the legging to the bottom of the spike. The boot trough ranges from 4 3/4 inches at the top to 3 inches at the base. These gaffs are being sold without any leather straps. Overall a good used pair of gaffs. These are a pair of buckingham/ bell system climbers that were factory inspected and refurbished from back in the day when the phone company actually took pride in its equipment. tree pole climbing spurs gaffs perfect best quality comfortable cadillacs
these are the highest end gaffs i have ever seen. they are plastic and fully adjustable and very comfortable. i was asked to try them out for a friend who sells these. i am and have been a professional arborist for 15 years. they had a full foot rest on them that made them ideal for pole work or standing in a tree for long periods. we cut the front and back off the foot bed to make them more appropriate for removal type work or pruning. if you have decent boots. The footbed seemed totally useless and just got in the way of boots touching branches. the leather and felt is as new as you can get. they are cadillacs and $450 here in canada. i will ship to canada and US only. it will be in the $25 to ship range for sure. i am getting rid of some nice older metal spurs as well in another listing. they are more like fords lol(kleins with replaceable ... moregaffs)

Which according to the catalog fits 28-32. I measured the waist and it came to 31 to 39 inches. My friend only used this once so it is in great condition. A set of composite climbers with heavy duty pads. Arch saver foot supports appear to have a sole on them but is gone. Top straps are not very long and may not work but you get them anyway. Vintage Industial Klein Full-Floating Body Belt w/ Miller Climber's Gaffs + More
Howdy, This auction is for an assortment of vintage climbing equipment. These are items that sat in storage in a box in a garage for an unknown amount of years so I do not know if anything is in usable condition. I think they look great and would make an excellent display either hanging on a wall or from a ceiling and that's the condition they should be considered to be in- for display only. The first item is a Klein Tools Floating Body Belt model number 5266N22 dated January 1980. The entire belt looks good but some of the small leather straps are dry and damaged. There are a pair of very old Miller Climbing Gaffs. Some of the leather is dry and cracked. Also included is a Rose MFG belt with a huge carbiner. The final item is a lumberjack's belt and has two large clasps.

I bought these climbing spikes over 15 years ago at an estate auction. They have been sitting in a box in the closet ever since. Full set of lineman's climbing gear in a heavy duty locking shipping case. All top of the line gear. Bashlin gaffs. Klein model 5278N23 belt in a size 38-46, Bashlin strap, Klein adjustable hard hat, Klein model 5142 tool bag, Kunz 4.5" gauntlet gloves in a size large. It all was always packed and carried around in a heavy duty case and all of it is lightly used. The case is the most worn but that is to be expected. I was much more of a bucket truck technician(CATV, 31 years so far) but there are always times when you have to climb to get to some equipment. Bad sidecar accident has ended my days of climbing. There's a lot of years left in this gear.

But should be saddle soaped.Can't find a name on the gaffs. Comes with the strap that is signed Klein.
