Which is probably the retailer where they were purchased. The shaft by the spike says" Mine Safety Appliances Co. Pitteburgh, PA. MSA-Brooks Climber" The leather looks to be in good shape with no holes. Tears, cracks or rips. The spikes are extra sharp with no sign of filing or any gouges. The green and white saddle harness belt looks like it hasn't ever been used and is marked" Niemeyer Corp. Newton Sq. PA. 120 Small. There is a very faint mark beside it that reads"Apr 1988. The leather is in great shape with no cracks. Rips, or tears and everything looks like new. The leather belt in the last picture has the canvas belt that ... moregoes around the tree. The canvas belt has no marks on it. But the leather is marked"Belt. LC-23-E Size:20 R.H. Burke Co. 01-H-1771-63 B-259" It appears to be in bad condition at first glance. But after looking at it closer, it looks like it hasn't ever been worn because there are no marks or stress cracks in the belt where a buckle would have been bearing down on the leather. It just looks like it has been in storage or in someone's closet for a long time. But the leather could be cleaned up and would be in great shape. There are no holes, tears, or rips anywhere in the leather or canvas. I have no idea if it is safe to climb with these or not. I put them on one time and went outside to climb a tree. You are bidding on a very old Bell Telephone Systems pole or tree climbing safety harness leather belt& straps that I believe are circa 1930-1940's vintage. There is a brass tag on the belt that reads"Bell System 10.66 Size 24. B Belt 4" Mfg R.H. Buhrke" All of the metal rings and straps appear to be original. I did wipe them off but they have a slight musty odor. This is a great collectible for the telephone or utilities collector. I am not an expert in this area so I will describe the piece as best I can. Selling my harness- it's a Men's Petzl Corvus. Medium sized. I've found it to be relatively comfortable and lightweight. It's in great shape, everything works and there's only minimal signs of wear. All hardware. Seams and stitching appears to be in good condition. There are some scuffs and marks. The waist belt measures approx 45" from buckle to tongue end. I wear a 35" waist pants. And this belt fits me with some belt to spare. Sold as a collector display item only! As with any vintage climbing equipment.
