The spikes themselves seem solid and sharp. The upper leather straps are good but could use some oiling. The foot straps are a thinner leather that don't seem as high of quality and are two different styles from each other so I don't think they are original to these. The spikes measure about 1 1/4" by 2" The gaffs have old leather straps that are dry and have some cracks. There are only three straps as one is missing. There is a yellow belt that has a copper tag that shows an elephant climbing a pole. Reads" Franklin PA. SN 1272, code#6390" It appears to be made of nylon and leather. The second belt is leather with copper rivets and is also dry. It reads"Alexander Bros" These are older' vintage gaffs and belts. Complete setup! Start your climbing today. Either you are an arborist or lineman. This is top gear and well preserved just for you. Shoes are about a size 10-11. All this gear has been tested and seems to function as it should. Not sure how old tis setup is. I have had it at least 10 years and think it could 15-20yrs I bought this equipment to do some arborist work in the mountains. However being this is safety equipment. The leather is stained and shows some age/usage wear but is still in pretty good shape. It is soft and flexible. Not all dried out and cracked. As you can see they are missing the tie on straps. They are both marked"LC-243/G. 10389-Phila-54" No other marker's marks or brand name. The metal spikes are adjustable. They have some spots of surface rust. Overall good condition. Any questions. Brooks M8A Linemans Belt and Gaffs Climbing Gear
Being offered is this M8A Brooks Linemans Belt and Gaffs. It seems to be in working order. It is approximately 38-40' waist. Both gaffs have sheeths on the blades. SOme of the leather has some dry cracking. But would probably be fine if oiled and conditioned. This was bought at an estate sale of an older former lineman.
