Up for auction are these two vintage Penn conventional reels. The larger one is a Penn 209. Numbers on the bottom of reel seat are 30-66 and the smaller one is a Penn Peerless#9, with the number on the bottom of reel seat are 30-109s. Both reels have bright chrome and are in excellent condition. This is a PayPal only in the United States. Sorry but I don't ship out of the United States. The previous owners license numbers are scratched on a side plate& there is a 1/4" size chip on the edge of the side plate with the clicker as shown in the last picture. Solid& sturdy in good working shape. The handle/spool turn quite. Smooth& freely. The free spool lever& clicker knob work. It has a green colored handle knob on a counter-weight handle. This is a super nice reel that I picked up from an estate sale. The man that sold it to me said that it was his dads and it was never mounted on a rod. I have no way of confirming that but I personally believe him because of how new it looks. There is no sign of wear or no sign of being used. But as I said I can't confirm that. Welcome Vintage Penn levelwind lot for use or collecting. Reels include a Penn Peerless#9. Penn Peer#209& 309. The#9 is in collector desirable condition with a little bit of pitting. This is mostly all contained on the worm(drive) cover. The#309 warrants the same shape and the 209 is a lesser grade with more pitting. All operations possible have been checked out. All have not been tested under fishing conditions recently and have been used in saltwater. Please ask questions if more info. is needed. PENN PEERLESS No 9 Monofil No. 9MS salt water metal spool BiatCaster Reel Collectors Reel You are bidding on a Vintage Penn Peerless No.9 Right handed Reel. Marked 30-109S. Some wear but it’s in Great Cosmetic and Working shape in all. Gear Ratio 3.75:1. Has an approximate line capacity of 18lbs@ 220 yds/ 15lbs@ 275 yds. Weight 19.1 oz. Torpedo Handle, Crank, and Metal Spool all very good solid shape. Plates have some normal wear but great solid shape and a good emblem. Full Free Spool is in good shape with some minor pitting. Red Bakelite Torpedo handle and Star Drag are very good shape with nice chrome overall with. Has some minor wear for a vintage reel but good solid working reel in all. The Super-Sized and Zoom-Able pictures are of the reel which shows it quite well. Star, rings, posts spool and seat(chrome parts) are in great shape. The plates are both in excellent shape. Has a fantastic levelwind set as well a great looking reel in all. Looks lightly used if at all. For a close inspection of this PENN Peerless No. 9 you can check it out in the super-sized and zoom-able photos. This Peerless No. 9 Levelwind works quite well and is read y to fish. Its cranks well with nice click. Has a a solid anti-reverse, good even working levelwind, a good working clutch and the free-spool mode works quite nice. Vintage Penn Peerless No. 9 Levelwind Saltwater Reel-Made in USA-Very Nice
Here we have a very nice made in USA penn peerless No.9 levelwind saltwater reel that is both mechanically and cosmetically in very nice condition. Reel features clean and shiney black sideplates. A chrome line guide plus and anodized dark brown spool, greatly reducing corrosion to spool area, spool will hold apprx. 275 yards of 15 lb test mono line. Gear ratio is 3 to 1. Stardrag,clicker,free spool release and levelwind are all in good working condition. Cosmetically chrome is bright and clean and reel is very smooth in operation and will be excellent for either saltwater or freshwater fisheries for either trolling or bottom fishing.Good luck and good fishing.
