Bought this reel at a garage sale years ago and was surprised when I removed the old line. It has the most corroded spool I have ever seen. But I put new line on it and the reel turned out to be my favorite. Smooth drag. Full gears, good bearings, and no internal damage from salt. The spools are very thick material. I have a used Daiwa Sealine 30H reel in very good conditions. This is a right handed reel. Cosmetically. There are scratches and nicks all around from normal usage, but nothing deep or major. I also notice that there is a missing platic cap and sticker on the front and side, but again nothing that effects the performance of this reel. Mechanically, everything on the reel works like it suppose to. The handle cranks smoothly, while the free spool spins freely. The clicker clicks loud, and the drags tighten and loosen like it should. This reel is made in JAPAN. Sorry there is no rod clamp. Other than that, T here is absolutely nothing wrong with this reel. Just needs a new home. If you are not happy with this reel. Here we have a used vintage Penn Senator 14/0 fishing reel. This is the older style with the metal spool. The reel is in overall good condition. The beauty rings are slightly rough and one has a small crack in it as seen in picture 6. The handle is in the roughest shape with lots of scratching and chrome loss as seen in picture 5. The spool is in great shape and the crossbars are good overall with some minor chrome loss. It functions great and I cleaned this reel about a year ago and have never used it since. I believe I put one new bearing. A new bridge sleeve and a couple new drag washers in it. It includes the rod clamp and both harness lugs. The handle will be removed for easier shipping and the reel will be packed very securely. No international shipping on this item. Feel free to ask any questions. PENN Senator 12/0 Fishing Trolling Reel
For sale here is a used black handle. Chrome-plated brass spool, PENN SENATOR 12/0 star drag, deep sea trolling reel and it is complete with rod brace assembly, rod clamp and retaining nuts. This is also known as PENN's Model 116. It is designed to bring in large game fish and carries 800 yards of 80 lb. test monofilament line and of course a much larger amount of modern Spectra or Braid. It has a gear ratio of 2 to 1. It is presently fully spooled with line of unknown strength and age. Because of the difficulty in removing that line, I don't know the condition of the spool surface beneath but there is nothing that would lead me to believe there is problem. I have gone through this reel and it works just the way it was designed to with smooth drags and a very loud clicker. Cosmetics are a bit above average with the usual boat rash ... morebut nothing that would effect performance. There is a screwhead showing on the left side plate. A clever machinist has secured a once loose click-spring in this manner and this is about the best way to do this.it is really excellent work and the spring will never come loose again. New parts on this 12/0 include the handle and the rod brace. I have more of these 12/0's if you are looking for several of them. This one is similar to eBay#330817665017 shipped November 2. PENN REEL SENATOR 116A BIG GAME 10/0 BEARING MODEL W/ORIGINAL BOX 80LB DACRON
This reel is close to mint. The only differences between this reel and the one I had some weeks ago is, There are a few more scratches on this one but, this one has the original box and papers. It's hard to find the box for these reels and it's even harder to find the second piece of the box with the flaps still intact. I took photos of the inside before I put it back together to give everyone an idea of how it looks inside. I don't believe this reel was ever taken apart until I acquired it. It has open access drags. Scratches are the only thing that keeps this reel from being mint. You can change the drag washers without taking the whole reel apart. I serviced it completely replaced the two eared metal drags and installed a new fiber washer underneath the main gear. The clamp comes with it, I removed it so it would be easier ... moreto ship. It is saltwater proofed all the way. Someone is really going to enjoy this reel.This reel will not fit in a"Large Flat Rate box" and it weighs in at over 9lbs with a box.
