Vintage 1971 Klein Buhrke 5228 linesman ironworker pole tree climbing tool belt
A very nice vintage padded 1971 Klein/Buhrke model 5228 linesman's/Ironworker's/tree topper's tool belt. This belt is in excellent condition especially considering how old it is. The leather is soft and pliable and the hardware is in excellent shape. It has double D-rings to attach a wall hook or tree/pole climbing strap and a pliers/dykes/keel tool holster bolted/riveted onto a sewn-in leather strap with 3 holes. The holster is not in as good of shape as the belt. The leather on it feels older and weaker but it would be easy to replace. Opposite the pliers holster is another sewn-in leather strap with 3 holes for attaching another holster or whatever. Lots of leather loops and 4 small D-rings for it looks like attaching suspenders. Klein Buhrke Lineman Tree Pole Climbing Belt 5268 & Strap 5295 IOB
Up for Auction is this Klein Buhrke Lineman Belt& Strap with their original boxes. Both pieces are used and dated 10-1972 and are in great condition. Belt Model is 5268N and is marked size 18. It also has a tool holder marked 5112. The only flaw I see on belt is a small rivet popped on a clip for holding an extra tool(shown in last picture) which does not affect the structural integrity of the belt. Leather is in great condition. Strap Model is KL-5295 and is in great condition, appears to have some white spots on it(probably paint) Both items have been stored in their original boxes. Klein-Buhrke Utility Climbing Belt With Lanyard Strap
This listing is for one climbing utility belt with lanyard strap. Manufactured by Klien-Buhrke on 4-74. Everything looks good does have a little stiffness. There are to leather flanges one has a button. The flange on other side does not have a button, not sure if it is suppose to be like this. There is nothing for the button to snap to. These flanges are at bottom of belt. see last two photos) Everything looks secure and good. All stitching in tack and no cuts or tears. There is some paint splatters and other soiling. I know nothing about these items. I do not know how they are used. My cousin is a tree trimmer and he said they are good and can be used. He could not use them he said this belt is used for poles. The Belt-This belt shows signs of use but still has many years of service left in it. The tongue and buckle section are designed for rugged wear. It has 2 heavy duty metal connectors for climbing and rappelling. The buckles are intact and work great. Lightly used climbing belt w strap. Both in very good condition. Aluminium tag reads Klein-Buhrke, Model 5228, Serial 54357, Date Mfg 1-70. Although this is an older belt, it is very well made and has been kept in great condition. Well padded with heavy duty ring and clips. Leather is still solid but pliable, stitching and rivets are all tight. Please view all my photos and you'll see how nice this belt is. Fastened in the outer hole, waist belt measures 45" around the inside and can be used up to 8 1/2" smaller- 36 1/2" at tightest hole. Previous owner has added an extra hole between the first and second tightest holes. Looks like previous owner has cut off two leather tabs of some sort that would have hung at lower left and right on the belt(see photos) Pole strap is 1 3/4" wide heavy reinforced nylon( and is shown ... moreat 52" total length with lots of adjustment left in either direction. If you need me to be more specific as to length adjustments please ask. Heavy duty hooks/closures, all rivets are tight and I see no cuts or worn spots. My husband actually used these this year. They are from 1972. I wouldn't recommend using these to climb poles anymore, but they are in fair shape for a vintage piece like this.
