I am not sure just how old this belt is but based on the leather detailing. Stitching and metal hardware I would say that it is most likely vintage(pre 70's) The WM Bashlin metal tag is hard to read but you can see that it is clearly marked size D18, No 88. All hardware and straps seem to be in good working condition with no tears or rips. Metal hardware has begun to ... moreoxidize and the leather is a bit misshaped from being stored over time. The leather is also beginning to stiffen as well as minor cracks in only a few very small areas, all is well documented in photos above. I am selling my Bashlin Model 88 D26 climbing belt with safety strap& Klein ditty bag. It is in great used condition with no signs of abuse or damage. All of the stitching is as it should be. It was never left out in the back of a truck bed.it was always stored in a dry bin. None of the rivets are damaged either. This is a great belt for any lineman who is not looking to pay"new" prices! These belts are very expensive! I am no longer in the pole line business. So I have no use for the gear.

Bashlin Lineman's Belt, Floridian 88, D21, 6 ft. Pole Strap, Klein Parts Bag
There's something about high quality leather work. And Bashlin has got it with their Floridian 88 lineman's belt. This belt is in great shape. There is some wear and tear through out. But nothing I can see that would affect safety. Durability, performance or even the looks of this belt. It is a size D21 and is 32 1/2 to 42 1/2 inches long, measured from the inside of the buckle to the prong holes. The pole strap also in great shape. It is 6 ft long made of latigo leather reinforced with nylon. The snaps both work well with plenty of spring. The belt itself shows some wear. But nothing serious. There's also a Klein 5142-P parts bag. The seam along one side of the inner pocket is about half ripped out. But, the bag itself is good, made of heavy canvas. The bottom is lined with leather that has a grommeted drain hole. This is used ... moregear. If you take it up a pole. It's your choice. Still, this is top quality gear in good condition. I expect it to give many years of safe, reliable service.

Bashlin model 88 full floating linemans climbing belt size D-21 This is the top of the line safety belt that Bashlin makes. It is in good shape. And has no rips, cuts or major flaws. I would say it is not fully broken in yet, and has many years of work left in it. I bought this back when I was contracting. And now work in house and have no use for it. It has just been sitting in the basement in storage for the last few years. It does have a basement smell to it, but it nothing a couple of days of work in the fresh air won't take care of. I also have a pole strap. That is not pictured, that I will throw in with the belt.

The belt is in excellent condition with many years of life left in it. There are very few minor scuffs to the surface in places. None of which compromise integrity of the belt. This is marked ASTM F887 and 700mm. The padding is in excellent condition. The leather has been taken care of and shows no signs of drying.
