This is not a museum grade sample, but it is something special. It does have some flat crystal faces, bit I LOVE this one because it has CIRCULAR crystals, much like he Congolese samples some of you may have seen! Pitchblende this dense crystallizes and forms the beautiful surface characteristics. This sample will be shielded in accordance with shipping regulations. A lot of times. That means a bigger box, but sometimes it means thick lead! I take my measurements at 930 volts exactly. Dead time compensation is on if the meter is equipped. Anti-saturation(if applicable) is off. Measurements are as follows. Bicron Surveyor M with G1LE end window scintillation probe: 800,000 CPM Bicron Surveyor 2000 with HP-270 probe(which is a new version of the tubes used in the CDV-700 models) so this sample will PROBABLY max out your counter. Ludlum 3 with 44-9 pancake probe: 225,000 CPM Bicron Analyst(it happened to have a pancake probe on it at the time) 170,000 CPM. The energy compensation is much better on the Bicron PGM probe, so the difference is expected. This will probably read around 100-150,000 CPM on an"inspector" model. I have one meter that is calibrated the proper way. If anybody truly knows what the"proper way" is; you may understand why I must defer to scientific reasoning and experimentation(I will work with you to figure out why we are getting different counts and you have covered all your bases. These are estimates. Every meter and probe combo will get different results because of how many different energies of particles and rays are detected. That's it, folks. Thanks for looking! I googled this item up and General Electric Radiation Meter was used in a Top Secret project that has been declassified. I made a copy of the Research. If you email me I can send you a copy of the"Top Secret" declassified file. The device works but I do not know what it is reading? I think it was made in the 1950's or 1960's?

This is a working ion chamber mR meter. Model 06-525, for testing x-ray equipment radiation dose output. It is used. Has some slight scuffing, and the left digit has a missing segment(see picture) The reading as shown was taken with a medical x-ray unit. Settings at 300mA, 70kV at.067 seconds. This is a consistent reading compared to our other calibrated units. If used for troubleshooting. or doomsday prepper: the unit won’t have to be calibrated. Has some slight scuffing, and needs calibration. It has selections for single phase. Three phase and Continous Pulse(high frequency) and two settings for the window filtration type. It has a BNC output for visualization of the waveform by oscilloscope(invaluable for preheat settings and observing spits) The reading as shown was taken with a mammography x-ray unit. Settings at 120mAs, 26kV. This is not quite within required specifications. So if just used for troubleshooting, the unit may not have to be calibrated. Vintage Packard Instrument company scaler-ratemetermodel 150. Powers on and all tubes light up counter comes on everything seems to function but that is all the testing i've done. I have no way to test this further. does not come with detector that plugs into the front. Some cosmetic issues such as scratches and chipped paint. Power cord does have some cracking and splitting.
