Beautiful Antique fiddle base Singer New family model 12 Sewing Machine.
Welcome to my auction for a beautiful vintage singer sewing machine model no 12.the much sought after fiddle base new family. ~ serial number 4861722/ 1155922~ This machine is in working order.Its quite stiff and definitely needs oiling but everything moves as it should including the bobbin winder and stitch adjustment knob.The bullet shuttle is included and in good condition also comes with 2 bobbins. As you can see by the photos the decals are missing in places but overall fairly complete especially considering its age.I often see singers half the age of this in similar condition. It looks like it has been well oiled over the years and has a layer of dry oil build up over most of the machine-the orangey yellowish tinge over most of the base-see pics.this scratches off with a fingernail however I have left it Im sure you could remove this ... morewith kerosene or similar but I haven't tried for fear of damaging the decals. Chinese Qianlong Armorial Export Gale Family plate,Order of Cincinnatti shape.
The plate for sale is from the Gale family service made in Jingdezhen and decorated in Canton in the early 1780's. It measures 9 and 3/4 inches in diameter and stands 1 inch tall. Age wear to the enamels and gilding with two small chips to the reverse edge of the plate. A rare shape with only the central enamels different from the rarest set in American history. It is identical in shape.Rich border decoration,age and gilding to that ordered by Colonel Henry Lee in 1786 and given to George Washington Order of the Cincinnati to recognize the honorable service of American and French officers during the American Revolution. Washington served as the first President of the Society of Cincinnati. The china was used by Washington during his Presidency and also at Mount Vernon. It was the rarest export China in existence. Amazing Vintage Ringling Bros Barnum& Bailey Circus Family Scrap Book w/ Poster A very interesting 80+ page Ringling Brothers and Barnum& Bailey Circus scrap book packed full of all sorts of interesting ephemera. Some of the items included in the book are: a full size poster. Snapshot photos, postcards, trifold mailers, official tour schedules, used and unused tickets, mailing envelopes, clippings from newspapers, books, and magazines, and a business card from a clown. What is really interesting about this book is that all of the material is from a very concentrated period of time during the early 1960s and is focused on the Boston, MA area. Furthermore, the cover is titled Volume 1 which leads me to believe there may have been subsequent volumes. Who ever created this book was very passionate about the circus and spent a great deal ... moreof time compiling all this material. My belief is that the creator might have been a family member of one of the performers. The name Daniel J Doyle is in the font inside cover. Through my limited research I did find that there was a performer in the show at the time with the last name Doyle. The highlight of this book is the 42” x 28” Maxwell Frederic Coplan lithograph poster folded into the book. The poster appears to be in excellent condition and appears to be lightly glued into the book. This book is in very good overall condition and appears to be almost completely intact. There are a few blanks spots here and there and a bag of extras pieces in the back that probably once filled most of those spaces. I should also not that many of the newspaper and magazine clippings fold out to reveal entire articles with pictures and many of the snapshot photos have writing on the back with dates and descriptions of the photos. i am not an expert on all things i sell. if you need more information.
