Wow. Here we have a Radiation Survey Meter Model SU-1 made by Tracerlab in Boston. Massachusetts. Based on my research, this was the first commercial version of a Tracerlab"Cutie Pie. An advertisement for this Tracerlab"Cutie Pie" first appeared in the 1948(p.68) issue of Nucleonics. The operating manual for this meter( which I do not have) apparently describes the meter as a"Portable Radiation Instrument. The meter is in very good shape. I popped the side cover off and took pictures of the inside. It appears that everything is there and in good order. The battery compartment inside is clean as well since someone must have emptied it before storage. If you look closely. You'll see Philips head machine screws holding the side covers in place. When I got the meter, all these screws were missing, so I replaced them. I ... moresuppose if you wanted to be more correct, you would change them to flat head. This auction is for a vintage Microwave Meter in the original box with instuctions. It is a model MM-10 and is designed to detect radiation leakage from microwave ovens. It is made of hard plastic and does not require a battery or other power source. I have shown a quarter in the pictures for size reference. The box states that this is not intended for microwave work or to replace periodic checks. The instructions are dated 1979. This tester is in good used cosmetic condition. I tested for operation per the instructions and the hand moved very little. If any. Either I have a tight microwave with little or no leakage, or it doesn't work. I have no means to test further.
