RARE!!! Vintage Buddy L Double Mantle Propane Lantern Model 5179 Pyrex Glass
The photos show the actual item you will be receiving. This is a hard to find Buddy L double mantle propane lantern. Buddy L is the american maker of metal toys beginning in the 1920's. There is not a year on this lantern. But I would guess it is from the late 70's or early 80's. It is milk chocolate brown in color. It has a couple of spots where the paint is missing(shown in the 3rd photo) and smaller spots on the edge like by the area where the handle attaches to the top. It has pyrex glass in the viewing area. The glass is in perfect shape. It has some surface rusting underneath(last photo) and on the part that holds the glass in place. The label is pealing a bit and is also scratched up a bit(see 1st and 4th photos) It stands about 1 foot tall and about 9 inches wide at its widest point. LOT of Two Coleman 220F Two Mantle Lanterns
Up for auction are two Coleman 220F Two Mantle lanterns dated 3/64 and 6/68. These lanterns show some scratches and scrapes on chimney and fount. The Coleman emblems shows cracks and a small piece by the C missing on one of them. The green Coleman color is sharp and vibrant. The collars are clean. The handles show some light surface rust. The original globes with the red writing show NO cracks or chips. See pictures for a better description. These lanterns pump up and hold pressure when I turn the knob I could hear the air release. That is how I tested these lanterns without putting fuel in them. These lanterns were made in the U.S.A. These lanterns are great for camping. Fishing, hunting or when the power goes out. Up for auction is an attractive vintage Bernz-O-Matic Double Mantle Propane Gas Lantern with it's original Bernz-O-Matic glass globe in green letters and damage free. This lantern is complete. Clean, with it's base, blue ventilator and appears to have been used, very, very little, if any at all. I don't want to say that it is new but it may well be. I tested this lantern and it seemed to work fine, however, it will not be shipped with any gas tank due to postal regulations. It looks to have been painted over the original paint in several large places. The bottom edge and bottom paint is flaked off in several places. It has a Coleman made yellow. Amber color glass globe. The decal has one large gouge. The carry case is in good condition with very little paint loss especially on the inside. No dents or dings. It has its bottm plate that the lantern sits on with the rubber sponge underneath. The lettering and decal on the inside are in great readable condition. The outside decal is a bit rough. All have pyrex globes with no cracks in them and the moving parts all work. In good condition. Exhibits some rust all around. Untested. Says: Sunshine of the Nigh" Made in USA. This lantern was patent in 1935. Both valves turn just fine. The air pump holds pressure. I do not guarantee the generator to be working. Ventilator or cap has several places with enamel chipped off and on the very top edge the ventilator is bent some. The globe is in very good condition. Stamped into the collar are the words"Coleman Quick Lite" Stamped into the base is the Coleman quick lite trademark with the words"The Light of the Night" Just below that are the numbers 9 and 12. Stamped at the bottom rim of the base that was once painted red. Are the letters F. S. It has the original glass globe engraved or etched with: Pyrex" Made in the USA and has the Coleman symbol. Here is a vintage Coleman Dual Fuel Gasoline Lantern in excellent condition. No chips on the top, or fuel tank! This is a model 285, 2 mantle, with the Coleman carry- storage case. The lantern is dated on the bottom; 3- 93. I tested the lantern and it works okay but I bumped the mantles when I was cleaning it and they disintegrated. This lantern is previously owned and was acquired from a private estate so the exact history and age is unknown. The vented cap is in good shape. There is some rust on the inside of the cap. The outside of the cap does have a few small rusted areas(see photo) Also on the top of the cap there are paint marks(see photo) The cap nut is fully rusted but threads on correctly(see photo) The burner assembly is in good condition. It is oxidized to a blackish patina(see photos) ... moreThe pan. Cage and ring around the top each have some rust spots, but none of the rust goes through the metal(see photos) The handle still has its proper shape with no deformities. Although there is some rust on it(see photo) The Pyrex globe is in good condition but there are a few scratches and a white scuff; nothing that should affect the brightness of the lamp(see photo) The aluminum collar located in the middle is in good shape no bends of deformities. There is some rust spots on it; the markings are legible(see photo) The fuel reservoir is in good condition: it does have scuffs and scratches on it due to prior use but it is free from any dents or cracks. The reservoir does have spots of rust and spots where the paint is completely scraped off(see photos) The cap was removed and underneath there is heavy rust build up and paint that has been chipped off(see photo) The inside of the reservoir appears to have a bit of rust from what can be seen. The pump handle works smoothly but does squeak a little when moved in and out. The adjuster coming off the burner assembly turns with no squeaks. No fuel or mantles were available. YOU ARE BIDDING ON A VERY NICE VINTAGE 1949 COLEMAN MODEL 220D TWO MANTLE LANTERN. THIS LANTERN COMES COMPLETE WITH A NEW PAIR OF MANTLES AND A COPY OF THE 220E OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS. THIS LANTERN WAS MANUFACTURED BY THE COLEMAN CO. IN WITCHITA KANSAS IN 1949. THE DATE ON THE LANTERN IS A 49. MADE IN THE U.S.A. This lantern is in very good to excellent condition both mechanically and cosmetically. The only flaws I see in the lantern is a tiny chip on the very top of the ventilator. And a couple of smudge spots on the nickle on the fount. See the Pictures) The Lantern is all original with the exception of the new parts mentioned below. It has the original Sunshine of the Night Green Lettered Globe, and the nickle on the fount is exceptionally nice for being 64 years old. See the Pictures) The Globe is in excellent condition with no chips ... moreor cracks. The green logo on the globe is faint but if you look hard, you can see it. This lantern has been professionally rebuilt. All parts have been totally cleaned and refurbished or replaced. The new parts include the Generator, the Fuel Cap Gasket, and the Valve Assembly has been repacked with a new graphite packing. This Lantern is so nice that I did not fire it up. I pumped it up, it holds pressure and when you open the valve, air hisses through the generator. I know it will work like new. This lantern burns Coleman Fuel. This Lantern shows very little actual use. This is a Vintage Coleman Lantern. Single Mantle Floodlight Red- 200A195. This has the Pyrex red Printed Glass and original box. The lantern states" The Sunshine of the Night" Made in the United States of America The condition is used as can be seen in the photo as well as the box worn. It will come with a new mantle. The tope has a brass washer and nut. Not sure if that is the way they came but just letting you know what I see. Good Luck bidding on this piece of history. Due to the vintage age this lantern will be sold as is. Their appears to be a date stamp on the bottom of the lantern. 2 60, I am assuming that is the date.
