Mahogany Crossbanding It has been randomly cut 1.8 mm to 2.3 mm thickness so it will require fixing. Finishing, dressing and polishing. I am showing the same wood, only thicker, in a photograph with just oil applied to demonstrate the colour before it is polished. This is not included in the sale nor is the piece with the screw I cut in half. see below for explanation) I have cut this veneer with the top of a longcase trunk frieze in mind.It is sufficient to replace most longcase friezes. Front& both sides, but could be used in many situations. 1950-Now Original French Marquetry Veneer w/Nautical Harbor and Village Scene
This stunning hand-carved veneer inlay picture of a harbor scene is called French Marquetry which is the process in which elaborate patterns are formed by the insertion of pieces of material like wood veneer below the surface of another piece of flat wood(pictured#1) This technique was established by French wood workers as early as the 17th Century and often times their elaborate veneers were applied to furniture on table tops and drawer fronts. This particular piece dates 21st Century and is a very nice picture of a harbor scene. In picture#2 I have shown a close-up so that you may see the pain staking detail that this unknown artist undertook to create this masterpiece of veneer work. In order for the artist to level his work and make his elaborate veneer pieces even with the surface of his flat piece of wood he needs to have good depth ... moreperception as the sharp knife he uses must cut the harbor scene evenly just below the surface of his flat piece of wood. Cutting of the very thin veneer pieces and inserting them below the surface of his piece of wood requires unerring skill. Patience, and a lot of practice. Eventually he has inserted all of his very thin pieces of veneer into place interlocking like a puzzle. And this final step is truly an enigma. In this piece the artist used camphor. Black walnut, cherry, mahogany, pine, and birch wood veneers to complete his project(pictured#1& 2) In picture#3 I have shown a close up of the miter on the corner which was done using a router to bevel and create a mitered look meaning you don't have to frame it if you don't want to. Picture#3 also shows the mahogany& black walnut trim surrounding the frame which is a feat of precision. This little marvel measures 9" long X 7 1/4" wide 1/4" thick and it is in'mint' condition. Its intrinsic value as a much higher art form requiring other skills besides mixing paint and mastering brush stokes gives this piece greater value as its veneers are hand-cut and inserted into a hand-carved frame or

Mid Century Sectional Modern Sofa Vintage Couch Milo Baughman Eames Wood Veneer
This is a vintage. Mid century modern low profile sectional sofa, probably from the late 60's-early 70's. Not sure who designed or made it, but its very similar to some of the Milo baughman pieces from that era. It's a 3 piece sectional. The largest piece has the attached side table. And measures approx 83" long. Then 2nd sofa piece measures approx 66" long, and is approx 26" deep. The 3rd piece, the connecting wedge, or"triangle" Adds an additional 44" of length to each side. Giving all 3 pieces an overall length of approx 127" on the long side(with the attached table included) and 110" of overall length on the shorter side. The frame is well built. And quite heavy. The wood grain is a dark, chocolate black colored synthetic veneer, and the legs are solid chromed steel. Also, the fabric ... moreon this piece is a beige microfiber, but since it was custom designed to be removeable, it is extremely easy to wash. And if you wanted to get it reupholstered. The beige microfiber cover can be used by any upholsterer as the pattern to reupholster the sofa in any fabric or color you want. This makes it easier(and less expensive) to reupholster than any other piece like it. As you can see, the actual sofa fabric under the cover is in pristine condition! This is really an amazing piece. We purchased it from the original owner about 2 years ago. And built our entire aesthetic for our home around this sofa. However, we are planning to move soon, and the sofa just doesn't fit as well with some of the newer pieces we've purchased. So it's time for it to find a new home. Local Pick up Only.

These speakers are from the early 80's but look like they were produced just recently. Have very close serial no's so I know they were born together. Empire Dresser, mahogany, mirror veneer, ca. 1830, Antique, good condition
An Empire Bureau. Or chest of drawers made of mahogany in the early half of the 19th century. This is a grand piece of furniture that would look great in any large space-hallway, large master bedroom, dining room. We had it in our hallway in a 1803 house in upstate New York. There are four large drawers and three small drawers at the top. The largest drawer is directly below the three small top drawers, consistent with the style. Drawer fronts are a mirror veneer, rest of the wood is solid. The drawer pulls are brass. This is a solid, well-built dresser. It is heavy. It stands about 52 inches high, is about 47 inches wide and about 21 inches deep. The drawers are about 16 inches deep. The finish is in relatively good condition; there are scrapes, scuffs, nicks and scratches but it would not necessarily need any work. There is some wrinkling where it would fold and if it was used it does not appear to have been used very much. On the outside of the wallet there is a section that resembles Birdseye Maple. I am not sure if this is an actual piece of veneer or a manufactured item. I think this was probably a custom advertising specialty item and not a standard catalog piece. I was not able to locate any markings on the wallet to determine if it is genuine leather. This is an undated catalog for Coe Veneer Machines by the Coe Manufacturing Company of Painesville. Ohio. I would place it C1930 give or take a few years. Coe was a major supplier to the veneer and plywood industries starting in 1852 and continuing today as USNR. This soft cover fastener bound catalog measures 10 3/4" x 8 1/4" with 74 pages. A few of the pages are fold outs. It illustrates on high quality glossy paper a full line of their veneer machinery. The only blemish is a 1 inch tear on the front cover.
