New Lower Price 6/28/13. Buy it now before someone else does. $1500 off asking price. I have for sale a Oliver Model 20 Patternmakers Lathe. This machine is in great condition and comes with all of the custom made guards and faceplates and tool holders that you see in the pictures. The S/N of the machine is 44017. I am not sure of the year. Looks to be 24" swing over the bed and approx 84" center to center. I know the Oliver had model 20 and then A. B, or C.I believe this one is the model C just by looking at the dimensions. Motor is 3hp/3ph unit and it had the disconnect on it and it says 480V. I believe it can be wired on 240V/3ph also. It was working and then sat, may need a push button switch on the motor, but I'm not sure because there is an electrical box with shut off attach, maybe the school removed the push button for safety and used the pull handle with a lockout to prevent kids inadvertently turning it on. I have no other info on it's condition other than what you see in the photos. Does not have a tool rest or faceplate. Does have a duplicator, not shown, and a fold down protective shield you can see in the photo on the ground. Cast iron legs. Bed, etc. all excellent, no cracks,breaks repairs. With these controls, along with the standard capabilities comes a bunch of other features. I've had a long history with the earlier MAGNETEK/ YASKAWA motor controls. at one time or another I've had almost the whole GPD line in use in my shop and I've always had top service from them) and I'm still amazed at what they can do dor me. For my lathe applications I still prefer and use the earlier analog models. I guess I'm'old school' but for a lot of my shop operations I feel much more comfortable with'analog' ... morecontrols.faster for me to make instant'on line' changes and adjustments. The Yaskawa issue(of the Magnetek Lancer 702) labled Juspeed-F Series has been able to perform every job app I've thrown at it.and still has many functions I've not had occasion to use. These units come with an installation/operator manual that runs between 20 to 60 pages(manual included with this control! so obviously I can't cover everything in this brief description so if you have a particular question please feel free to ask. I'll answer promptly. Some of the features available to this series/line are: full torque(power) at virtually any speed(up to twice the motors' rated speed) and variations you can choose for different applications and needs. I constantly use the ramp up/ ramp down speed settings; as an example. If I'm doing a sanding operation on small parts with very little mass(an example is sanding flutes in both forward and reverse directions on the lathe to clean edges of the cuts on wooden kitchen utensils) I set the ramping feature for perhaps 1-2 seconds from high speed forward to stop to high speed reverse. Powermatic wood lathe face plate 7 inch also Delta Yates American Oliver others
This is a Powermatic gold face plate that came from a Model 45. It probably fits a Model 90 also. It is 7 inches in diameter and is solid cast iron 3/8 inches thick so it is quite substantial. The holes for mounting were part of the original manufacture and not drilled later because they have the gold paint inside. I don't have a way to measure the threads but the hole diameter is one inch and the threads are raised from that. Which suggests that they are one inch. I also cannot tell if the threads are right or left, but again, this is standard Powermatic manufacture so whatever is standard for a 45/90 lathe is almost certainly what this is. It shows no sign of rust. Nor any abuse. It is guilty of living is a workshop environment, so it is not spotless, but it is perfectly usable for its intended purpose. I hope it fits your needs. Bowl rest curved tool rest for wood lathe Powermatic Delta Rockwell Yates Oliver
This is a heavy duty bowl rest or curved tool rest for use in any wood lathe. This is very heavy cast iron and is in great shape. Not abused or damaged. The tool rest surface is smooth and clean. The mounting post is 1-1/8 inch diameter and 3 inches long, pretty standard for a heavy lathe like the Powermatic 45 that it came with. Overall length is 10 inches. I am guessing that the post can be moved to the second hole that is visible in order to make it more versatile. I just don't have a way to test that idea. But it looks like a good bet. Shipping is free. But you can pick up the item in the St. Louis area if you are able.

OLIVER WOODWORKING LATHE TOOL STEADY REST HOLD DOWN CLAMP/ BED BLOCK This hold down block will fit all Oliver(and some other) Lathes with a 2 1/2" bed width opening. I really can't say for sure what Oliver Lathe it came with.but I think it went with the lever action tool rest holder(which I no longer have) I've had a lot of Oliver machinery over the years and this is one of the Oliver parts in my tool chests. The block weighs 1.9 lbs. Dims: 1" High X 2" long X 3" wide. Hole diameter is 9/16" The step on either side is 1/4" X 1/4" The width inside the stepdown is prox 2 31/64" The stamped numbers are ledgible and they are: 0053-0012-2. Oliver Machinery Co. Wood Lathe
Up for bid is a fully functional Oliver#159 12" wood lathe. This is a later model of the Grand Rapids. Mich. lathe with the serial# of 204882. These lathes have a 12" swing and a max distance between centers of 40" All castings are free of any cracks, breaks or repairs. The original pull to start/push to stop switch and variable speed works. I did notice on occasion at between 2400-high rpms, that the belt would get a little use. It seems like after years in storage, the variable speed pulley hangs up a bit, but the more I run it, the less it is doing it. This lathe was in storage for about 15 years before I got it. The bed ways and inboard spindle are covered in a thick cosmoline, which I left in place. The motor is a 1 hp. 1825 rpm, 115-230 v. single phase Dayton motor. It is currently wired for 115v. I want to also mention ... morethat the cover for the Alan Bradly box is missing. This will be a pick up item unless you have made prior arrangements with me for shipping. I can load with a fork lift on to your truck or trailer at no charge. I will also disassemble to go into your mini van if needed. I will give you a satisfaction guarantee at pick up. You can run the lathe and if you are not satisfied, you will be reimbursed the selling amount. This only applies at the pick up time and not there after. Oliver 51-A Pattern Lathe Carriage with compound and cap
This is a Carriage with compound and socket rest cap for an Oliver 51-A. It should fit other Oliver lathes of the same size. But to be sure, message me and we can discuss dimensions.
