This is a West German HRE 59 Canteen. The HRE stands for Heinrich Ritter Esslinglen. The canteen has a rubber type coating(that is partly gone) over a veneer of wood looking material over aluminum. Up for Auction are three Amazing mahogany& walnut cabinet doors. Two doors have a center panel that is antique pressed(I believe walnut) wood with crotched book matched walnut veneer panels above and below. The third door has three panels of crotch book matched walnut veneer panels. The doors are constructed of mahogany(spanish cedar) with walnut trim. The backing is a smooth plywood cabinet grade. These doors are a custom design incorporating salvaged antique materials. Reclaimed and new wood from Whitmer Design Studio. These doors have never been used and are new although they incorporated antiques materials in the design. They have not been finished- except for the antique panel that was kept in its found state. The two antique paneled doors are prepped for SOSS 216E invisible hinges- see pictures. This auction does include 2 pairs ... moreof the SOSS hinges to mount(2) doors. The center door is prepped for 2" x3" hinges- these hinges are not included. Please ask questions, I do not take returns. Vintage Zenith M730 AM / FM Radio, VG Condition Great 7 Tube Sound Walnut Veneer
Zenith M730 AM/ FM radio with A utomatic Frequency C ontrol. Great sound from the 7 tube chassis and 4" oval speaker. The wood cabinet and tube circuitry give a rich tone not found in newer radios. The veneer is in excellent condition for it's age( circa 1959) As is the grill cloth and the dial. Inside it is cleaner than just about any radio I have ever found, with all original Z enith tubes. I don't think the back cover had ever been off. The glue holding the AM loop antenna had let go so I reattached it. And blew the interior out. It plays very well, with just a very faint background hum. It tunes great up and down both bands, and plays for hours with no issues. Now for the bad news. The dial indicator is off. And does not correctly indicate the station being played. It is off about 1/4" It does, however, tune in all of ... morethe band on AM and FM. There is some wear to the plating on the power/ volume knob, and the paint is slightly worn on the plastic surround underneath it. That's it! A ll of the bad. This really is one of the nicest. Cleanest tube radios I have seen in over 20 years. Pending retirement and relocation forces me to reluctantly reduce my collection. There are several of these currently listed on eBay. If you look carefully at the pictures. You will see that this is the nicest one overall. It would be e xtremely hard to upgrade this radio! It will be securely packed for shipment. Beautiful 5 1/2" antique hand turned mahogany wood bowl. It has a geometric veneer inlay band around the outside of the bowl. The piece is 5 1/2" wide x 2 1/8" tall. Opening at the top of the bowl is 4 1/2" Retains the same fine finish it had when I purchased it decades ago. Green felt has a small piece missing. Otherwise the felt and bowl are in very good condition. There are no cracks, scratches or splits in the wood. Great for trinkets, storing change, cuff links, etc. No reserve! Very Fast Handling! Vintage jewelry box inlay& veneer with redish satin cloth material inside. Looks like acouple different kinds of wood. With off white diamonds on front and top. This is missing the key, has three spots where the veneer is chipped as you can see in the photo's. On the inside the satin cloth pouches in the two corners is pulling away and need to be sewn. Up for bids is this Antique Octagon Ogee Veneered wall clock in working condition. 8 day movement. The veneered case is a little worn from age but still in good condition. I think it may be a Seth Thomas but if not. I'm sure it was made someplace in Conn. in the 1800's. It has a nice dial and great brass bezel that opens and closes with a click with nice glass. 3 1/2" Dial with a little touch up. in center. The replacement key hangs from the veneered case. It is made of a beautifully figured, antique red shell veneer, mellowed to a lovely, warm and mottled appearance, mounted with finely modelled and gilded ormolu(finely gilded brass/ bronze) that is in excellent original condition. The shape is classic Rococo, asymmetric waisted design with bold acanthus shoulders, scroll feet and a flamboyant floral swag to the top. The dial is large and stunning. Enamel on copper, lightly sculptured, and with separate minute and hour rings. It is complete with original blued steel hands and convex glass. Antique Birds Eye Maple Veneer Picture Frame, Small, Wide, Birdseye
Offered for sale is an antique birds eye maple veneer frame. This is a small frame. And very wide moulding. The rabbet size is 9 3/4" X 6 3/4" with some allowance. The outside size is 14 1/8" X 11" And the moulding is almost 2 1/2" wide. So this is a very chunky, bold frame. The sight size is 9 1/4" X 6 1/4" with a rabbet depth of 3/4" plenty of room for almost anything. This has a wonderful patina and original finish. There's a few spots where the veneer is missing. And you can see in the fourth photo, there was a piece of veneer loose that was glued down. I cut this frame down from a larger one many years ago. And never used it. It sits flat, isn't warped. Nice and t i ght corners. really problem free. This could be used for many things. And of course can be hung the other way. ANTIQUE 19thC. FRENCH KEY-WIND MANTEL CLOCK W/ VENEER INLAYED CASE You are bidding on a well preserved wooden shelf/mantel clock. The cathedral-shaped case is made of some sort of dark hardwood with a glossy lacquered and exquisite wood veneer overlay and a contrasting front edge inlay. Stands on four(4) brass legs. The mechanical or key-wound movement is marked. On the brass support plate, to be made in France. By opening the 4" dia. hinged brass back cover plate- you will see the winding and the time adjusting shafts, and most interestingly and unique, the moving or ticking escapement wheel. The original double-ended key is included. This antique ten(10) day movement performs absolutely perfect and on time- as expected from a genuine French clock. Length at base is 5" depth2-1/4" and height 6-5/8" Case and bevelled glass ... morelens are free of dents, scratches or repairs. There's a small chip at 2 o'clock of the porcelain dial. Dunnett throw and butt, new bottom remo head and a new Evans clear top head and 2 die-cast 10 hole rims with light scratches.Snare has a wood veneer called KAURI, sometimes called ancient kauri, are prehistoric trees( Angathis Australis) buried and preserved in a peat-bog up to 50,000 years ago in New Zealands North Island. Buried under a peat swamp by an unexplained act of nature at the end of the ice age, the trees have survived the centuries underground, sealed in a chemically balanced enviroment that has preserved the timber in perfect condition. There is something captivating about this wood that is a little mysterious. Ancient Kauris beautiful grain and natural resins produces a deep shimmering streaks of indescence called white bait. A beautiful Wenge veneered top on a solid ebonized Oak"X Form" base and stretcher. All original parts and woods. There is no evidence of there ever having been any alteration or restoration. The top has some discoloration from the sun and a couple small areas(1" in diam. where the veneer is lifting creating a very slight rise in the veneer. The wenge has an"open grain" finish and the grain has some deeper/longer pores than in other places- if undesirable these can be easily filled. For a dealer you may want to restore this piece and there is little to do to make it perfect again. For the casual purchaser you can leave it as is and be happy. For the collector you could go either way. Antique Inlaid Round Chess Table; Walnut Burr Veneer; Marquetry Border; 31" x 18" 4-legged round table with tripod-type base. Fixed round top with Walnut Burr veneer inlay and original chess squares inlaid in Walnut and Maple. Board is enclosed with ebony/rosewood marquetry stringing. c1900; Well kept and in good condition. The table top has been carefully re-finished and french polished. Smooth and unmarked surface whilst retaining the patina of the original veneer beneath. 44.4cm along the grain. 43.7 across the grain All veneer work remains in good order- no cracking or flaking. No missing patches. Two repairs from long ago are visible, but neatly and carefully done. This will be shipped in two pieces for safer packaging and less costly postage. Base fixes to top with 4 screws.
