The paint looks original as it has a nice patina going, but it is possible that it is a very old re-paint. Looks great nevertheless! I left the patina on the metal and glass undisturbed. Very nice, rare piece. I haven't seen one like it on eBay and I may be underpricing the starting bid, but we'll see where the auction ends up!
