ESSEX SILVERLINE SL8 S-L-8 HEAVY DUTY FLOOR DRUM SANDER WITH 20 GRIT PAPER
This is a very nice used Silverline S-L-8 drum sander. It works quite nicely. The sandpaper drum is in excellent condition. It is not all tore up by nails. The edges are nice and crisp, and the cam lock springs have been recently replaced, so this unit will give many trouble free jobs. We are even including a 10 pack of 20 grit paper so you can start sanding right away. The only bad thing about this sander is someone had a loose piece of paper on it and sanded a hole through part of the housing(you can see it in the 4th picture) That can be covered by epoxying a piece of aluminum over it. Working, 48" dual drum sander that oscillates both heads. the finish is beautiful when complete. the panel and wiring has all been redone and as you can see is not a hack job. the panel and wiring alone was a $1000. the panel feeds off of a 110volt supply so its safe to turn the panel on without the risk of being shocked. we have run up to a 46" slab through the sander and it doesn't even hesitate. the company before us used it to sand down fencing as they were installers and made their own. it has been maintained and comes with a few boxes of extra sand paper for the drums. all the tools needed to change the paper are also included in the sale. we are also a hauling company and are willing to haul the sander to you for an additional charge depending on your location. Here's the Idler Drum Cover for a 6" x 48" Delta Milwaukee Belt Sander Grinder Finisher(will also fit the Rockwell models of this machine) As you can see in the photos, this part needs some TLC! but. In light of what these pieces sometimes go for. I thought it might be a worthwhile project. There's one smaller repair to one end. The very common groove left behind by poor belt tracking. This repair has been partially filled, with a common product called"Plastic-Weld" I've had very good luck with this filler. It's durable. Sticks well, and takes paint well. The repair could be completed with other products as well. Though, as I've found the"Plastic Weld" to be very stable. And inert, once hardened. These partial repairs were made several years ago) The second partial repair. Involves the Guide ... morepin. Inside the cover. There was some cracking around it's base. This repair looks to be very sound. And is nearly completed. Of course. The major concern here, is the large break. This is a clean break; meaning. That only one piece is broken off. And when held together. The pieces mate nicely. This would need to be strongly glued at the edges. Perhaps this repair could also be reinforced. From inside, an adhesive backed sheet. Or tape. Ultimately. I think this item could be restored to usefulness with limited effort. And at a significant cost savings, over a better condition used. Delta 18 x 36 Drum Sander 31-250 with Attachments
Up for sale is a Delta model 31-250 open head drum sander. The 18" drum allows total sanding width of 36" Also included is a 4 x 9 Pneumatic drum attachment. And a shaft for a flapper wheel. The extra shafts can be attached to one end of the main drive shaft, and removed when not in use. This machine is from my personal shop and works well for light to medium sized projects. I used it to sand Clipboards. Cutting Boards, and Lazy Susans. It has seen quite a bit of use, and has been well maintained. The only issue is that the main power switch does not work. I rewired it so that it's always on and just plug it into a power strip and use the on/off switch on the power strip. This is a heavy machine. So local pick up only. For Sale is 1 sanding drum only; 8" long x 5" diameter. Includes 1 coarse sandpaper band. And 1 fine sandpaper band(they fit over the drum) Free accessories are included: 1 extra air valve, and 1 custom-made air valve guard(guard requires extra thread length and hex-nuts for spacers and fasceners) Some mechines may not accomodate the custom-made guard(but its free) The drum is sound. And holds air well. The differences in bore sizes(on each end) converge approximately in the middle of the drum. One hole is approximately 7/8" 22mm) and the other hole is approximately 1/2" 13mm) I measured these holes with a hand ruler, using both scales to give a better approximation of their sizes. The drum weighs approximately 7 lbs.

Clarke M-V8 floor drum sander, 8"
Old Clarke M-V8 8" floor drum sander. Old. Used auction find, took it home and direct wired in a test cord, plugged it in and the motor ran. Takes about 10 seconds to come up to full speed. Belts are shot and pullys need wire brushed/cleaned up. Drum turns. Needs new electrical wiring from the motor plug on out, have all the original parts. Needs new drum pads. Belt guard has a big hole in it that needs brazed up. This is sold for parts, but probably could be made useable again if you are willing to put the work and time into it.
