Very nice vintage handmade custom western cowboy hat 10x black beaver felt. This was custom made by J& W Hats in Salt Lake City. For a"Casey" and has that name& Last name in it, but it was hardly worn at all, but this is definitely unisex and could be man or woman's/ men or women. If I was a cowgirl and had more places to wear this, I'd keep this because it's near mint, no sweat stains or anything in it. Has nice stitching. Maybe hat is about 5-6 years old, but owner gave up horses. This is black felt. really fine. Look at the pictures and all the details. US made in Salt Lake City. Here is a lovely set of three J. Russell& Co Mother Of Pearl Fruit Knives. They have J. Russell& Co and 1834 with 12(for silver plate) below both marked on the blade(see pictures) The silver plating on the knives has small areas of wear on the plating as shown in pictures above. The bands that connect the knives are sterling silver. There are areas of damage on all three where the knife meets the blade right above the sterling rings. CMTC 1920s 13 Large Glass Negatives Marching Band Cavalry Tents Camp Militaria
Offered here are 13 large(7 x 5 inches) glass negatives from an early 1920s CMTC camp. I'm not sure where this camp was but I'm fairly confident they were taken around 1921. The first year such camps existed. One of the photos is dated but it's difficult to read- pretty sure it says 19*1- that's right, there's a defect in the middle of the date. These could be from the very first CMTC camp. Citizens' Military Training Camps(CMTC) were military training programs of the United States. Held annually each summer during the years 1921 to 1940. The CMTC camps differed from National Guard and Reserves training in that the program allowed male citizens to obtain basic military training without an obligation to call-up for active duty. The CMTC were authorized by the National Defense Act of 1920 as a compromise that rejected ... moreuniversal military training. Please note: THESE ARE GLASS NEGATIVES. They are not printed photographs! How I got the images you see here: I put the glass negative on a light box and photographed it with my camera. I then used a photoshop-like program to turn the image from a negative to a negative. Which gave me a positive. I did not manipulate the image in any other way. I shot photos of just the negatives too so you can see what they look like before. Also please note that these images probably look much better when professionally processed- I just aimed the camera and shot. The slides are as follows: 2 slides of addressing the troops. 3 slides of marching. 1 men under tent. 1 of men at attention(band too. It looks like) 1 of cavalry and what looks to be cannon. 1 band in the field. 2 of men playing cage ball(one marked CMTC Playing Cage Ball) 1 marked tent camp 19*1(can't read the 2- pretty sure it's a 2) 1 marked"19th Commandery Chicago Ill" Condition is pretty good for the age though some show signs of wear.
