this is a 1970's case davis trencher that I converted int a mini log skidder it has a case 188d diesel engine hrs are unknown. The fuel injection pump was replaced in june 2013. it runs good and will pull a large ash tree with no problems. Log skidder axle w/planetary gears & 3rd member pettibone john deere caterpillar
Pair of log skidder axles w/ 3rd member gears& planetary gears. They are currently mounted on a Pettibone skidder we bought to part out but do not seem to be original to this machine. The axles have been welded to the frame(see pictures) I removed one axle shaft. It measures 42 1/4" long. I do not know what they fit or what machine they were made for. 1967 162 Franklin Log Skidder
I'm selling my 1967 franklin 162 log skidder. Has been parked for about 6 years.It runs and drives but every once and a while the clutch seems not to release smoothly. But the more it's been running it seems to be getting better. Probably a rusty pressure plate. It has a 3400 allis chalmers engine, 5 speed trany with high and low range runs good. It has low hours@2628 and the Cummins engine is super strong and the power shift transmission pulls hard. In one of the pictures it is missing a cover for the hydraulic lines. I removed the cover for inspection and pictures. It has a huge reach that I guess to be 50-60 feet. The blades turn like they should and the head rotates to keep it on the correct side of the limb.
