This great find came from a local estate. I am not sure of the maker or origins. The set has 55 individual brass stamps in its original wood box(2 of them are blank) They measure 7/8" long and 1/2" tall. The stamps are unique looking letters. Symbols, and numbers. Here is a partial set of brass New Hermes Double Line Script type. If you have this set. You may want to add a few letters, so that you can engrave longer words and passages without having to re-set your type as often. I believe this may be an"expansion set" to give double letters, but I do not know. If you do not have this set, you might be able to do some monogramming, but please note there are no lower case Es, so you can't spell many words. Actual dimensions of this type are 1.5" X about 1" but this is italic script. So it fits in the standard 1.25" type slots. The letters are approximately 20mm high for capitals and 12mm- 30mm for lower case, depending on the letter. As you can see. The type is in very good condition. It may not have been used.
