Wooden Fishing Rod. Vintage. "Murphy" Type. Solid Wood. "Agate" guides. Rare.
Vintage Solid Wood Fishing Rod. A rare wooden fishing rod with the longest section made from one solid piece of wood. Believed to be designed as an Ocean( Saltwater) Rod. Similar to" Murphy" rods of this type. But it is not known if this is an actual Murphy. It appears to be a"production" commercial) type rod, and not homemade. Type of wood is unknown, may be Hickory or Birch. Wood is in good shape with no visible drying or rotting. Not laminated. 85 inches total length, the top part is 66 inches. 31/32" in the widest spot. Flat on one side. Agate" type glass guides and tip. 2 guides are missing. Handle is wooden and has been turned on a lathe. Diameter of the bottom part of the grip is about 1 1/2 inches. The fore grip is about an inch in diameter. The metal reel seat is 5 5/32 inches long. No visible makers ... moremarks or decals on the rod or reel seat. The ferrel is clean inside and the top part slides easily in and out of the butt section. I am not that familiar with rods of this type, so if I erred in any part of my description or assumptions, please let me know and I will add it to my listing. VINTAGE SOUTH BEND WOODEN FLY SIZE LURE. I have up for bids a vintage wood fly size lure. Not sure who the maker of this lure is maybe South Bend there are no markings on it. It looks like a perch pattern to me and the single treble hook is rusty, It is approximately 2 3/4' long with a cup type head. It has a few small chips to the paint and it may be a little dirty from use, Still a nice vintage wooden lure in a fly styled lure. Late War, Type 30 Japanese Bayonet With Rare Wooden Scabbard. Squared Tip
Really great example of a late war Japanese type 30 bayonet with the original wooden scabbard. This is the rarer would scabbard with the squared tip. The wood is in perfect condition with original finish. It was made by the Toyoda automatic loom company which later became Toyota automotive. The blade is unfullered. It has coarse machine marks but original finish without rust. Pitting, bending or other damage. No post manufacturing sharpening I have always loved this bayonet. These are very hard-to-find with this scabbard pattern. The manufacturing stamps are deep and easily read. It has a three digit serial number on the pommel. The pommel is squared. Be sure to add me to your! 1920’s Antique Westinghouse Type-LA-6 Automatic 111-120 Volt 600 Watt Iron Purchased from an estate sale in York Pennsylvania this was owned by a physician who collected a variety of interesting items. This iron would make a great door stop or addition to your‘old tyme’ décor. The wooden handle is in great condition not dry or cracked. This item was only lightly wiped off– not thoroughly cleaned– since I don’t want to cause any damage to it I will leave a‘real cleaning’ cleaning up to the buyer(if desired) As you can see it has great shine! There is no wire to plug it in but I am not sure I would want to try that with something this old anyway! Please see the pictures as they are part of the description. The iron is 8 1/2" long by 4 1/8" wide by 5" from the handle to the iron base and weighs 5.97 lbs. Measurements may not be 100% precise' and were done to the best of my ability. The tray measures 16 1/2 x 21 3/4. The tray has been completely cleaned but the bottom was in too rough condition to save. I have replaced it with ply and stained it to match(The ply I used to restore the tray was about 1/16th less in thinkness and the small nails on each section that holds it to the bottom had penetrated the ply. WWII JAPANESE ARMY WOODEN ACCESSORY/TOOL BOX FOR TYPE 90 75mm FIELD GUN 1945
Extremely rare. Authentic WWII Japanese Army wooden, hinged accessory/tool box used with the Type 90 75mm Field Gun during the Battle of the Philippines in 1945. This box was picked up by my father in Manila in 1945 during his service with the US Army. The box is numbered#366 which I believe corresponds to the ID number of the gun it was used with but I am not certain about that. There were only 786 of these Type 90 field guns produced by Japan between 1932 and 1945. The box is a well constructed wooden box with"S" shaped sliding hooks for closure on the front; two sturdy hinges on the back and numerous flathead screws holding the box together; it measures 8" across. 7" deep and 3 1/2" high(see photos) I have had the writing on the box cover analyzed and the interpretation reads as follows: The top line reads from ... moreright to left: gun-90-style-artillery. The bottom line reads from right to left: company-limited-tool-box. Here is a brief history of the Type 90 field gun: The Type 90 75 mm Field Gun( Kyumaru-shiki yaho) was a field gun used by the Imperial Japanese Army during the Second Sino-Japanese War. Soviet-Japanese Border Wars and World War II. The Type 90 designation was given to this gun as it was accepted in the year 2590 of the Japanese calendar(1930) It was intended to replace the Type 38 75 mm Field Gun in front line combat units, but due to operational and budgetary constraints, the Type 38 continued to be used. Prior to World War I. The Imperial Japanese Army was largely equipped with Krupp cannons from Germany. After the Versailles Treaty, the Japanese switched to the French Schneider company, and purchased numerous examples for test and evaluation. With an Army rearmament program starting in 1931, a new 75 mm field gun loosely based on the French Schneider et Cie Canon de 85 mle 1927 built for Greece was introduced. Wooden Clock Imp/Nursery Rhymes Child Themed German Pendulum Type Working
You are bidding on a very interesting old clock. I guess I am not exactly a clock collector but it always looked really good with the older toy display when I had bigger cabinets. It is nice for a cabinet as it is only 7" tall. I am pretty sure it works as it was ticking again while I was shooting the pictures when I had the clock leaned forward and the arm was more free to move. It has no pendulum and no key. I am sure the key is pretty standard and the pendulum. I made one is a few seconds that made it workable so I am sure that is not a game changer either. I was thinking it was from the 30's. It just had that feel to me. Feel free to let me know other wise and I will be sure to amend the listing accordingly. The case looks handmade and the top has a great image with the two children and the imp trying to get away. It is marked ... morewith what I think is the German form of a patent on the door and on the top. I think it is in good condition, there is still at least 98% of the pinstripe and the picture image shows wear but not nearly enough to detract much from the overall look. It has always looked this way, I made NO effort to clean it other than dusting(and it was in a cabinet so not too much dust in there) The paper dial has character as described above and shown in the pictures but suits the piece. If you cleaned the clock or refinished it or something, I am sure you could print or make a great replacement for it. As always. No reserve but I am starting it a little higher than I normally would as I haven't sold for over a year and I doubt my regulars are still checking my items and the gap in sales will put some buyers off so you might get a better than normal deal on it. I have 6 wine bottle stoppers. 4 of them look like ANRI hand wood vintage carved stoppers that have a mechanism to make the mens hat's and donkey's neck move and legs kick. The man with the red vest and pink hat has the bottle cork stamped with. Made in Italy- the others have no stamp i can see. 2 other wine stoppers are different and have no moving parts and look different than the others. One has a white cigarette and the other has a brown cigar BROKEN off. They are a bit heavier and not sure what exactly they are made out of. These are the two big headed men. I am selling them all together. I am NOT sure if they are ANRI. But they look similar to others I have seen on ebay. Some corks look used with wine marks and some do not. The sleeves are stamped"PAT APR 5, 1892" so I believe these are very old and extremely hard to find. These casters are unused with just a small amount of surface rust on some of them.
