Offered at no reserve is this re-list of a very interesting Terry Label clock. It comes from clock making heritage second to none. This Terry was Eli Terry’s oldest son and an early apprentice on the Porter Contract project. This eight day clock is from a later and sad period for the Terry family. Junior died early and broke the hearts of a dynasty. Eli Senior would live for another ten years. Working closely with the youngest son and clock making prodigy Silas B. Terry. This clock was probably made before 1840 or right after he died. I think the label would say Eli Terry, Jr. Co if it were all there. It smells original. An observation: Many people dismiss an Eli Terry Junior clock as not a real“Terry” and somehow a fraud. I say read some history. Junior ran the very first manufacturing plants in America. He put scale to his father’s vision ... moreof assembly lines and standardized pieces. For more than a decade, clock parts were much of the Connecticut currency in trade. When he died they changed the name of the town in Jr’s honor to Terrysville, not for his father as most people conclude. The authoritative reference on all things Eli Terry would be the Roberts and Taylor book; ELI TERRY and the CONNECTICUT SHELF CLOCK’ The second edition is cited here; Fig. 185 on Page 325 says it all. The clockwork is a Terry type 5.111 eight day wood movement by Eli Terry. Jr. Co. You will need eight day weights to make this clock correct. My original listing brought out comments that I had thirty hour weights and not the eight day weights needed for this clock. So for the relisting I am selling without weights. Merrits Clock supply has reproduction weights available if you can not find some old ones. If you are asking if this piece runs; it may not be the best clock for your collection. All the gears and pivots are intact and while each train will take some energy and show full motion- I have never attempted to run this clock. It has the original hands. And pendulum but no weights. Seth Thomas found his prime by working with Eli Terry first as his apprentice and then devoting his company as a marketing partner and licensee. Seth Thomas was cautious about change yet bold in moving forward; often bringing the whole industry along. and then Thomas would hang on to an obsolete product line for years. This old transition clock has been touched-up. Repaired and refinished over the years but still has dignity. Collectors love Seth best of all. This one will not disappoint. The glass putty appears old and the glass maybe original. If you are asking if this piece runs; it may not be the best clock for your collection. Antique Philco Tube Type Portable AM Radio w Wood/Leather Case
You are bidding on a vintage wood case portable radio made by Philco. It has a wooden case. Leather handle and what appears to be simulated alligator covering. It has the sliding tambour style door over the dials and frequency indicator compartment. Two locking screws hold the back plate in place where the tubes, electric cord and battery attachment are located. All tubes are in place. A paper tag inside the radio case identifies it as Part No. 10647G. Another paper label inside identifies it as MODEL NO 49-607, CODE 121, 115 VOLTS AC, OR DC 30 WATTS, TYPE P-841A BATTERY. The radio is physically in very good condition. This is from a collector that is downsizing. In my garage I plugged it in to test and could only get loud(adjustible) static. I did not attach an external antennae. There are instructions inside the cabinet on how to do so.

It is made of 2 pieces- a wooden bowl with wooden screw that turns to smash/ break the nuts. Heavy lovely full wood piece– type of wood unknown- Size: height of bowl section is approx 2 ¼ inches with diameter of 2 ¼ inches; the length with the screw totally expanded is approx 6 inches– when it is screwed in. Here is 4 small wood carved pieces. The first one is a little girl with a rooster and hen and she is 3 1/2" tall. Very nice details, no markings. The 2nd one is 2" tall, very detailed, and painted nice, It is marked DOLFI Original Made In Italy, she has a hook in her head and is probably an ornament. And New Departure Patented. Size is 22" x 16 3/4" x 1 1/2" deep. There is one partition piece missing on the top row left side. I bought this over 20 Plus years ago. Refinished it and have used it as a shadowbox ever since. I used cable wire to hang it on the wall but later added two metal clips to the top to provide more stability. Knapp Type S Dynamo-Motor" circa 1910-1911. This has been packed away in a crate for decades and decades. As you can see in the photos. It's complete with its original dovetailed wooden box and the 1910-1911 Knapp catalog showing the Type S dynamo. The dynamo is in beautiful condition. There are two short cables with terminals in the box; I don't know their function. The screw terminals for connecting to lighting or other 6 volt electric applications are intact and in good condition. I have no means of testing its output. But according to the literature, at 3000 rpm, output is 9 volts, safe maximum load is 6 volts/4 amps. The shaft turns smoothly, and the enamel paint is intact, clean, and not flaking. I sell many of these old printer's type cases or drawers this is a very nice one. It is very old. It is all wood and the top has the lip that the printer used to pull the drawer out of the cabinet. The depth of the slots are an inch deep. Which is very nice as some I have sold have slots of less than that. The case measures about 16 1/2 inches by about 32 1/2 inches. If so, could you change the plug? I don't know. I have another machine, and used it to check the attachments. It is 22 inches wide. 19.5 inches from front to back and 1-1/2 inches high. It has 82 slots that are varied in size. They are all approx. 3/4 inch deep. The center plank of the drawer has t wo imprints. One is what looks to me like"New Departure Patented" and the other says" Hamilton MFG Co. Two Rivers. Wis.
