Alphabet in antique letters We have found these characters in a french letterpress shop. Which started in 1910. We think. That these letters should be from around 1930. They have a nice patina and also traces of wear. As the letters had a long life of printing a lot of interesting posters, etc. The letters can be used for exemple as decoration. The letters are loose and not joined in any way. The letter"W" ist missing. Vintage Solid Wood Fishing Rod. A rare wooden fishing rod with the longest section made from one solid piece of wood. Believed to be designed as an Ocean( Saltwater) Rod. Similar to" Murphy" rods of this type. But it is not known if this is an actual Murphy. It appears to be a"production" commercial) type rod, and not homemade. Type of wood is unknown, may be Hickory or Birch. Wood is in good shape with no visible drying or rotting. Not laminated. 85 inches total length, the top part is 66 inches. 31/32" in the widest spot. Flat on one side. Agate" type glass guides and tip. 2 guides are missing. Handle is wooden and has been turned on a lathe. Diameter of the bottom part of the grip is about 1 1/2 inches. The fore grip is about an inch in diameter. The metal reel seat is 5 5/32 inches long. No visible makers ... moremarks or decals on the rod or reel seat. The ferrel is clean inside and the top part slides easily in and out of the butt section. I am not that familiar with rods of this type, so if I erred in any part of my description or assumptions, please let me know and I will add it to my listing. Vintage/Antique Letterpress Wood Printer's Type - FULL FONT - 100+ NICE PIECES
Upper Case Full Font(or nearly so) of Headline/Display Size Type- Approximately 3-5/16" Tall(20 pica) Over 100 Nice Pieces Including Letters and Punctuation. These Characters are in GREAT SHAPE! This font appears to be similar to Helvetica Compressed. A Great Find! This type has been used but the printing surfaces are very clean and the character edges are generally nice and sharp. A letter"C" has been trimmed for copy fitting. But the printing surface appear to be fully intact. A few substitution characters may have been added over the years This wooden letterpress type has not been cleaned. Although it has been brushed to remove excess dust and dirt. This is a used Font set and may not contain all pieces of the font when new. Sold AS IS. From a local printing shop that closed and has normal dings& wear associated with ... moreage. This has a working radio- AM only that is made to look like an old style wall telephone. There is a cord and plug that powers the radio- lifting up of the ear piece and the radio is turned on/off there are(2) knobs for the volume. One is missing- the hand crank on side changes the stations. The speaker is located in the bottom of the telephone housing the mouth piece and the bells on top are only for looks they serve no purpose. The radio/phone measures 18 1/2 inches High X 7 1/4 inches Wide X 5 1/2 ... moreinches deep- mouth piece and shelf make the depth 11 inches. The total weght is 9 lbs. 9.7 oz. There is not a year that it was manufactured anywhere that I can see- did not want to take the wood shell a part to see. There are some discoloration of the wood in places and there are some scratches and dents in the wood shell. there is a split in the wood where it was a reglued on the side that the ear piece hangs and can be felt from where the cord exits the wood to the bottom of wood panel. This is a great old wooden type cut. Most have a brass face, a few will have a lead face. These were used on a printing press from a closed printing company from the 70& 80's period. I have several of these and will take pics through a mirror so you can see what the image looks like after being printed. I have several posted now and many more to post. Some are solid lead and others are mounted to wood blocks. Vintage Sabatier Type Chef's Knife, 8" Blade, Wood Handle, Unmarked
I have listed this knife for auction. French made, hand forged carbon steel Chef's knife, unmarked, or markings no longer ledgible, but looks to be Sabatier. It has the balance of the Jeune, heavier toward the blade. Wood handle has a hairline crack in front of the forward rivet on left side, but handle is tight and buttery smooth. Blade has nice patina with a few old stains, the edge is not uneven with wear and is sharp. Overall length is 12 1/2 inches with an 8 inch blade.
