Tin type Soldier Indian War era hard to find !
You are bidding on a very nice and clear tin type soldier. It is 3x2-1/2 with a nice case that has been repaired on the hinged side with a tape material but a very nice fix. And has one of the small keepers missing. The picture is of what I was told a Indian Wars period soldier in uniform but I do not know anything about it so look at our pics and you can make that decision on the time period of this tin type. It is tinted and has great details in the background. The hat shows the crossed sabors and his coat is a 5 button sack coat design. Please email any questions before you bid. The obverse depicts a scout riding a horse with the words The Original"Boy Scouts" Shoe for Boys and July 1910 beneath. The reverse shows the company logo. This is an example of the Type#1& Variety#6 as listed in the"Excelsior Shoe Company Tokens" booklet produced by Dick Hamel in 2005. The left quotation mark before Boy Scouts is reversed. Japanese sword- extra long Kyu Gunto Type 19 company grade dress sword. This must be a rare type as shown in swords of Imperial japan 1868-1945 by Jim Dawson. Page 66, plate 6-18. This dress sword is 39 inches overall length and the longest I have ever owned. The blade with groove is 32 3/8 inches long and has the fake temper pattern. This was sold to me as a rare police sword but has all 10petal cherry blossoms and must be a type 19 army. If worn by a 6ft sodier it almost touches the ground so the Japanese soldier must have been a larger person. What is also rare is that the owner put his name in kanji on the sword handle. It reads Owada. some swords will have a family crest in silver but this one has 3 kanji in the round with edges looking like a chrysanthemum petals. a great WWII collectible. Condiiton: Old/ Used. This knife is original and in very nice condition. It has been a part of my collection for several years. I am selling a bunch of knives from my collection. I am not an expert, but I admire knives as a tool and as a work of art. I think I have collected some really awesome knives, but now it is time to pass them on for others to admire. Vintage Fyr-Fyter Type C Loaded Stream Extinguisher- Riveted Copper
Very nice old cartridge type loaded stream fire extinguisher. It is ther Fyr-Fyter Model C. It stands 23" inches high and is quite a bit smaller than the standard extinguisher. This extinguisher looks as though it is brand new. It appears that it may never have been loaded. There is no corrosion or deposits on the inside. The rubber gasket material looks brand new. It has a few scratches on the exterior as shown in the photos. There is no cartridge included. This appears to be factory paint as it was painted before the information plate was put on. Rather than soldering. This plate is glued on and is getting loose on the corners. Body is riveted copper. One of the nicest extinguishers I have ever owned, and I have had a lot of them!
