Up for your bidding pleasure is this 1892 Blickensderfer No 5 typewriter in is original oak dovetailed box. Lock on each side of box. Leather handle is missing but would be an easy replacement. This typewriter uses a cylindrical wheel which is called a print barrel. There is an extra barrel which is encased in a wood cylinder. The home row keys are DHIATENSOR. Antique Printers Block for Death Notice Antique printers Block is wood with Copper Plate. On this plate is a scene of a Grave Stone with the name ROBINSON.On the copper beside the tombstone are Trees and Woodlands. Around the Gravestone etching in the copper to be grass. When inked and stamped it produces a scene of the Grave in a meadow with Woodlands around and behind. Also clouds in a sky. Very Unique Piece. Size of the wood block and copper plate.1-7/8" wide by 1-5/8" tall. The wood is very heavy hardwood. The Copper Plate is thick enough to have the etching and indented tombstone. The persons name is above the tombstone but on it. On the tombstone maybe the date of death or time of Funeral, I do not know. The other side the here-after whatever you call it there is another place. This world has ways to help the ones crossed ... moreover with Funerals. Memorials, Crypts and do the Souls wander where their bodies are? Some believe they do and others don't but the items from the burial are of great interest with some they carry part of the deceased. This site is to honor those who crossed not to scare or try to be weird. I feel if a collector has interest in such things they themselves have had experience with death or just wonderment.
