Here's a unique antique printer's type tray or drawer that would make a nice addition to an industrial or primitive antique decor. Use it as is or use it as a"shadowbox" to display small treasures. Miniatures and/or photos or, re-purpose it as part of a table top. It has strips of copper(or. Possibly brass) trimming the top of the horizontal-running dividers. This trim has a really nicely aged patina. The color of the metal and the fact that there are spots of green-colored oxidation on it lead me to believe that it is copper. The edge of the tray/drawer where the handle is located is covered in painted metal(as is the handle) The handle was designed so that a card/sturdy paper can be slid into it. Only 60 pairs were reportedly ever sold. I've seen lower estimates and higher estimates. The range seems to be very tight to this number. +/ The most reliable estimate is 52 pairs. The estimates are 52/60/67 pairs and the lowest is the most reliable. I do not know how many REPAIR manuals were ever made as typically REPAIR manuals are made for dealers. Vintage Hamilton Wooden Print Type Set Drawer 103 Sections Shadow Box w Hangers
Up for sale is a very old Hamilton Mfg. Co. Printing Type Set Drawer that has 103 compartments in it. Each of the compartment are undamaged and are in good vintage shape and vary in height to put different sized collectables in it. the sections are 7/8 inches deep with the exception of the bottom shelf which is 1 1/8 inches deep.The back has 2 hangers already on it so it must have been used as a shadowbox before I purchased it. There is a very small section on the left hand side(as you face it) that had some wood splinter off. It is slight but you can seen the lighter color in the picture. I took 2 picture of the divider wood pieces that had words inprinted on it. I adjusted the sharpness and color to help you see it. I didn't notice any other listing mention it so I don't know if it is unusual or not. One says"NEW DEPARTURE ... morePATENTED" on it and the other says"THE HAMILTON MFG. CO. TWO RIVERS WIS. Antique Keystone Print Type Drawer
Up for bid is an Antique Keystone print type drawer. This drawer is in excellent condition. The drawer was lightly used as a print type drawer. But the fact that it does not have a handle has saved it from heavy print and subsequently dirt and damage. There is a slot in the front of the drawer that allows you to label the drawer, should you choose to continue to use it for a print type drawer. I will take pictures for clarity. I cannot be sure of the exact date, but the press that this drawer went with was from the late 1800's, so it is probably safe to assume that the drawer is from close to the same era. The drawer measure 32 1/4" x 16 1/2" It is undamaged, solid, relatively clean and the craftsmanship is impressive. Two Keystone Print Type Drawers
Up for bid are two Keystone print type drawers. These drawers are in very good condition considering their age. The handles are intact and say"KEYSTONE" on them. The drawers were used as print type drawers so they are a little dirty. The dirt shows age and adds character. But it will clean up easily if you had a different application in mind. There is a slot in the front top of the drawer that allows you to label the drawer. I will take a picture of this for clarity. The Drawers measure 32 1/4" x 16 1/2" I cannot be sure of the exact date of the drawers but I am fairly certain they are late 1800's to early 1900's. If you would prefer I can cut them off for you, just tell me when you order, I like them, they add more interest, if this is done the dimension changes from 32 1/4" by 19 1/2" by 1 3/8" to 32 1/4" by 16 5/8" by 1 3/4" neither of these dimensions include the drawer pull it is 4" long 1" tall and protrudes 3/4" the brassdrawer tag holder is less than 1/8" thick by 5 1/2" long by 1" tall. The face of this drawer appears to be quarter sawn oak.
