Old Letterpress or Prestype? Metal with Hard Wood Back Alphabet Printing Plate Wall Art. I'm not sure how old or what exactly is: Lettepres. Prestype or a different type of printing plate. But sure does look good as wall decoration. Measures approx. 9 7/8" tall by 7 1/4" wide and 7/8" thick. Was used as a wall decoration before. Hence the picture hanger attached on the back. Used. The lower case letter"s" 6 line, block is approximately 1" tall and 9/16" wide. Manufacturer: Page& Co. Greeneville CT. The maker's mark on this set of type was used between 1857 and 1859. This type is truly antique. Type is all wood. We have washed with mild soap and water to remove the worst of the dust/soil. Our lighting may distort the color of the wood.
