Large Letterpress Wood Type Vintage wooden letters alphabet print blocks a Vintage wood type. Around 75 freestanding individual letters. Each character measures just over three and a quarter inch tall the equivalent of 20 line. Used type and shows signs of wear and tear associated with working wood type. Two letters(R& T) have had a repair job don on them by the previous owner. See final image. None of the characters have been cleaned and would come up great with a light amount of attention. Vintage Hamilton Letterpress Printer Type Case Drawer Tray Typeset. It is in very good condition and measures 26 1/4" x 16 1/2" and 1 1/2" high. The drawer is all wood even the back when sometimes it is a fiber type wood with no warping and sits flat! There are 89 slots or cubbies of varying sizes. The drawer is embossed with"The Hamilton Mfg Co. Two Rivers Wis" and"New Departure Patented" There are some letters and numbers written on some sections as seen in the pictures. They are old and original with a nice assorted patina. They are separate blocks and I believe glued together but could be separated. Spelling out the word STEGO in reverse which stands for Stegosaurus a dinosaur of which a small metal one is glued to the top of the letter E, also can be removed. Vintage / Antique Letterpress Wood Printer's Type Word "PEACE" P = 3"
These are from the Salt lake county. Utah press. It was commissioned in 1920 so these have seen a lot of prints. The ink has been lightly sanded off the letters to reveal contrast but will still work, if you actually have a press. The patina is preserved while making the letters pop. These are almost a hundred years old and will make a strong statement. The letter P is 3" in height. The other letters are 2" in height. What is shown in the pics are exactly what you will receive.
