I think the initials are BPOE. the block also has a number code of E33 on it. its not on the upraised facing so i'm guessing would not show up when you use it to print. This is 50+ pounds of old printers foundry type. It is used and there are signs of ink residue on it. I sorted through it and removed all the little slivers of paper& brass that printers used as spacing between letters and all obvious dirt and junk. It is NOT shiny and clean, it is OLD, and does show signs of age. As far as I see, there is NO detectable amounts of corrosion. Letterpress Entire drawer Large Lead Type - 72 Caslon Type but some shortened
This is an entire drawer from an old Hamilton cabinet. All drawers have been removed and will be selling in lots. Another grouping of larger letters that have been used to suit the purpose of some layout. At least a third of them have been shortened to fit a smaller space or go with a different style. The cuts on the numbers are the most different. May be possible to recut all and have your own unique set of Caslon but some letters are missing. Close to twenty pounds. For auction is this nice set of lead letterpress blocks. They are approx 3/4" size and came in an antique Hamilton cabinet we purchased. I will include the tray with purchase so I can tape the letters in place when shipped. The tray itself is in very nice condition as well.
