The clip measures 2" long and is a tad under 1" wide at the top(the widest point) With a high powered loupe it is possible to see tiny microchips on the edges back and front, but these are not visible to the naked eye or seen when worn. As ... moreyou see. There are three'waves' in the pressed black glass, which have been silvered to create what to me looks like the crests of waves or possibly hills and mountains in the distance. A very clever use of design by whoever designed it. The clip is one with three very strong sharp teeth so I am pretty sure it is a fur clip. I guess it could double as a jacket or lapel clip also. The clip is brass with a silver wash. There is a light loss to some of the silvering on the clip. Please see image. What a fabulous design so typical of the fun Art Deco era and yet as wearable and up to date today as it was almost 100 years ago.
