Gaertner Traveling Microscope Comparator You are bidding on a wonderful Gaertner Traveling Microscope Comparator! It comes with a solid bronze base. A precision micrometer slide, and a 60 degree microscope with a 10x eyepiece and a 38mm EFL objective. All the adjustments move smoothly. This is a very heavy microscope weighing over 20 pounds. There are some scuffs and etched initials on the painted surface of the bronze base. If you enlarge the last 2 pictures you will see that you will need to replace the cross hairs that are on the rear side of the tube that holds the eyepiece(very easy repair) Enlarge all the pictures and take a close look. Up for bid is this Gaertner Measuring Micrometer Microscope for toolmakers. It is made by the Gaertner Scientific Corp. in Chicago ILL. It is very clean and well made. The crosshairs are in good shape and clear and seem to work right. They are not crooked and move in and out. It has all its knobs set up on the left side so I am thinking it is for a left handed person. The lenses seem very clear. It measures 12 1/2" tall and over 5 1/2" wide. It has a tag it comes with that says Insp. 2806 and the other side says M-110-A and Serial# 6580-K. Very few minor scratches and scuffs but overall very clean. Also on the base of the scope its says Gaertner 48 m/m EFL. I am not an expert on this microscope but feel free to ask questions. Sold as is. Payment is due within 3 days of end of auction.
